ABSTRAK

Penyelidikan tindakan ini dijalankan untuk mengkaji keberkesanan teknik IMKC dalam
menyelesaikan masalah murid untuk mengembangkan isi karangan jenis fakta. Kajian ini
mengaplikasikan Model Kajian Tindakan Kurt Lewin (1946). Responden dalam kajian ini
terdiri daripada enam orang murid daripada Tahun 5. Responden mempunyai masalah untuk
mengembangkan isi karangan berdasarkan markah ujian Mac. Data dikumpulkan melalui
kaedah triangulasi data yang melibatkan pemerhatian, ujian pra dan ujian pos dan analisis
dokumen. Hasil analisis dapatan ujian pra dan pos mendapati peratusan skor meningkat bagi
gred A sebanyak 83% dan berlaku penurunan peratusan pada tiga gred iaitu gred B sebanyak
16%, gred C sebanyak 50% dan gred D 17%.
Hasil pemerhatian mendapati bahawa berlaku peningkatan pada skala Ya selepas
pelaksanaan teknik IMKC dalam membantu murid mengenal pasti isi, huraian dan contoh.
Dapatan daripada analisis dokumen turut menunjukkan peningkatan iaitu daripada tiada
peratusan murid mendapat gred A meningkat kepada 83%. Keputusan kajian menunjukkan
bahawa teknik IMKC dapat membantu murid untuk mengembangkan isi karangan jenis fakta.
Pada masa akan datang, pengkaji seterusnya boleh melakukan penambaikan dengan
menambah bilangan responden dan memperuntukkan lebih banyak masa untuk melihat kesan
jangka panjang terhadap responden.

ABSTRACT

This action research was conducted to study the effectiveness of IMKC technique in order to
solve pupils problem to expand the content of a factual essay. This study applied the Action
Research Model by Kurt Lewin (1946). The respondents in this study consisted of six pupils
from Year 5. Based on the test scores in March, these respondents were having difficulties in
expanding contents of an essay. Data were collected through data triangulation method that
involves observation, pre-test and post-test and document analysis. The results from pre test
and post test analysis indicated that the increment percentage for grade A is 83% and the is
declination in three grades, which are grade B by 16%, grade C by 50% and 17% for grade D.
Results from observation showed that there was an increment in Yes scale after the
implementation of IMKC techniques in helping pupils to identify the contents, justifications
and examples. The results from document analysis also showed improvement which is from
zero percentage of pupils obtaining grade A to a 83% increment. The results showed that
IMKC technique was able to help pupils in expanding the content of factual essay. In the
future, other researchers may increase the number of respondents and allocate more time to
see the long-term effects towards the respondents.
