JULY, 2017

NAME: WENCESLAO, MERCY G. MUNICIPALITY/ CITY: CABANATUAN CITY

AREA OF ASSIGNMENT: CHC 4 MABINI HOMESITE

ACTIVITIES:
For the 1st week of July, while were waiting for our contract renewal, I still voluntarily did my
work in CHC-4 and after 10 days of waiting, we had our contract signing held at Stotsenberg
Hotel Clark , Pampanga.
We started our work by continuing our daily routine in health center and designated
barangay. We conducted PTA meeting held by our Nurse Supervisor in ACA Elementary School,
East Elementary School and other school that covered by our Barangay Health Center. We
informed the Principal, Clinic teacher, Advisers and parents for the 3rd round of Dengvaxia
Vaccine. Our Supervisor discussed and introduced the HPV vaccine, our targets are all female
children ages 9-13, grade 4 and the MRTD vaccine for grade 1 and grade 7 student and WIFA
for grade 7. When we tackled about WIFA, parents are worried about what happened in 123
students in Lawigan National High School in Mati Davao Oriental after eating lugaw and iron
supplement provided by Department of Health.
On 3rd week we started our Dengvaxia school based immunization in East Elementary
School. My regular immunization at district 1 purok 1-7 and I helped my midwife at San Roque
Sur for her regular immunization and giving PCV 23 for 25 senior citizens and after that we went
to my regular immunization at district 1 purok 10. Before the end of the week, we conducted
DSBI at ACA elementary school where I assigned.
During the 4th week, we went to Mabini Homesite Elementary School for DSBI. Also, during
this week routine immunization done in district 2, prenatal check up, checked random blood
sugar to HPN-DM senior citizen and gave immunization of PCV 23 was done.
Once a week I have one (1) day duty at Mabini Homesite Center. Assisted all walk-in
patient, checking their blood pressure, blood sugar, giving their medicine including TB patients
and assisting our doctor for consultation.

Learning insights:
Working with passion and being enthusiastic at all times makes us more productive and
more patient-oriented.
Issues and concerns:
Several mothers are still uncooperative and lack knowledge about the other programmes
even though we have explained and gave all the information about it to them.

Recommendation:

Coordination to the clinic teachers and school principal is important at all public schools.
Enough time to educate all parents about the benefits of immunization.
