Reaction Paper of Iliad

It was a great story that took me to Greece in the ancient time.Because of that story I
was given a chance to see and to know the cultures and belief of people back in three
thousand years ago.

I learned in the movie that the Greeks and Trojans believed in divine beings but they
have their own Gods that is different from ours.In the movie they have their God Zues,
Apollo and others that they are praying to grant their needs just like what Chryses did to
send plague to Greeks and to return his daughter to him.

I saw the life what Greek and Trojans or the ancient people had in their time.the
Greeks are just taking territories of other land even if it will result to dying of their
soldiers.the Trojans builds a wall to defend their land.the King of Greeks Menalaus and
Agamemnon wants to have what they want like lands,pleasures in life and other material
things.I saw how people love their fellowmen.I noticed that they did not have moral rules
because I saw in the moviev that their king had many women.

King Priam caught my attention for showing his love for his country,countrymen and
family.In the movie he is working for peace for ten years rather than getting what he
wants or conquering lands and material things just like what King Agamemnon is
doing.He is just fighting to acquire material things like land in the movie. I heard in the
movie King Priam said he is working for peace for many years.For me it a sign of loving
his land and his countrymen because he is working for peace in order to keep his
countrymen safe and to live peacefully.

And also in the story King Priam cared for his sons Paris and Hector.We can see in
the story that King Priam fights for his son Paris from the anger of King Menalaus.He
said in the movie that he did not care if he fought for peace but he will fight the war for
his son Paris.I was surprised that he will sacrifice the peace he established and all what he
have just to keep his son Paris safe from the hands of Greeks.The another scene that I saw
in the story was King Priam beg to Achilles to give the dead body of King Priams son

Hector to give his son a proper burial.In that scene I saw King Priams love for his son
Hector.

In a nutshell, The movie caught my attention on how characters on Iliad showed and
expressed their love for their family.I was surprised in spite they are in the old times they
already showing and doing love to their fellows even though they do not have morality
rules to have peace in their lives.Their love for their fellowmen and family served as a
peace in their own country.
