JTC SAYS:

An important part of melodic playing is to use simple, memorable phrases and

melodic shapes. In measure 1, Vinai takes a simple two-note idea and slides it up
through the scale. Then, in measure 3, he repeats a cool arpeggio shape. This shape
is based around D major, but here he superimposes it over the Em chord (giving an
Em11 sound).
