A40 Jesus Must Be Killed, Matthew 16:21-27

Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jesus told his Apostles that in order to carry out the scriptures and be the Messiah, he would have
to be killed. They did not understand why he had to be killed. They were very sad. They did not want to
lose Jesus. He taught them to forgive each other, to heal, and to have faith in him. He told them what they
did for others, they did for him. They discovered that Jesus would always be with them. Jesus is always
with you, too.
