Describe your favorite movie

You should say:
when and where you saw it;
what type of film it was;
what the film was about;
and explain why it is your favorite film.

Answer

Well, the film that I am going to share with you is called Kung Fu Panda.
Basically, Kung Fu Panda is an animation film set in ancient times of
China, when the land is populated by talking animals, such as panda,
tiger, wolf, snake.
The film combines different elements of fantasy, action, and comedy.
The story around a panda name Po, who brings peace to the land where
he and friends live by defeating the enemy and evil.
To be honestly, I am greatly attracted by this film for a number of
reasons.
Firstly, the film is full of fantasy and imagination, it is really amazing
to watch a bunch of animals fighting against each other by a bunch of
funny ways.
Another reason, I am a big fan of cartoon movies and animation film
when I watch this kind of film, it makes me feel calm, and forgot daily
routines after a long time of hard work.
And the last reason is that the film is full of education benefits, from
that film people can learn about sacrifice and rebirth, kindness,
humanity, courage and persistence.
In short, those are the reasons why I want to share my opinion this
film with you.

1. Do you think (watching) films have (has) any educational benefits?

It is obviously that people can learn so much from films, you know
there is an old saying that a wise man learns from his mistake, but a
wiser man learns from the mistakes of others so by watching film I
can learn how to avoid mistakes from the mistakes of the characters.
Moreover, a film or a movies series like a short book or a summary of
a book so if we dont have enough time to read a book, all that thing to
do is finding a film bases on that book and watch it.

2. In what ways are documentary films and films only for entertainment
different?
There are many differences between documentary films and
entertainment, especially their purposes.
Documentary films are usually for education purposes or maintaining a
historical record or to recall the events that happened in the past.
In contrast, entertainment films are mainly for audiences who want
more relax and entertaining, and this kind give the audiences please
and delight.

3. Why do you think documentary films are not so popular?

In my view, the documentary films purpose is education or to recall
something happened or someone lived in the past
And it is not usually for entertainings purpose, there is no action
senses like car chasing, shooting, fighting.
To explain my point, when we watch a documentary film like we read a
textbook but when watch an entertaining movie such as Kung Fu Pan,
its easy to understand and make funs and very relax.

4. How are movies and real life different?

Well that is a big argument that has been around for a long time.
I believe that films reflect on the base life moreover, film is a
powerful tool that brings many parts of life to the public for
observation.
5. Do men and women like to watch the same kinds of films?
It easy to see the different kinds of movies between women and men.
In general, men tend to watch action films, science fiction film, horror
film, this kinds of films include a lot of car chasings, shooting and
visual effects.
In the contracts, women prefer to watch romantic movies or comedy
movies moreover, they dont want to see violence scenes like action
movies because it makes them feel nervous and stressed.
6. Do different age groups like the same kinds of films?
Well I think that old people like to watch stories about their country
since they were so involved in this time period. And also they like to
watch varies shows that show the native singing and dancing from
different parts of Vietnam.
In the other side, young people prefer to go for the foreign films such
as American films, Korean films and so on.
But there are some kinds of films that both young and old like to
watch, for example Vietnamese historical movies and cartoon movies.
7. Do you like any particular film star? Why?
My favorite actor is Angela Jolie. She is an American actress,
filmmaker and humanitarian She is always attracting by acting in her
movie. Sometime romantic or actions. The best movie of her is Mr. and
Mrs. Smith, she become a beautiful king character, very sexy and
smart. I definitely make a point of going to see his movies in theaters.
I like how realistic and creative she is when it comes to acting.

home

Answer

The most useful piece of equipment is my computer. I use it for both

my work and for recreation.
It is a Laptop computer so I can take it with me wherever I go. I
usually keep it on the dresser at the end of my bed, though when I use
it, I am usually on my bed or in my arm chair.
I use it for my research, and to read assignments that I have been
given. I also use it for my work. It is important to me because I have
all my most important information on it. If I didnt have it my life
would be so much more difficult because I would have many problem
findings all the different things, I need to do my work.
I also it to listen to music, watch movies.
For my job, I use it to create software programs, and to manage my

on paper and went to the post office.

talk about?

Of course, I think so, Computer has made a very vital impact on

technology has affected every field of life. People are using computers
to perform different tasks quickly and easily. The use of computers
makes different task easier. It also saves time and effort and reduces
the overall cost to complete a particular task.
3.4. What kinds of electrical appliances are most used in the home, besides

used for communication?
Describe a gift that you recently gave to
others
You should say:
When it happened
Who you gave it to
What gift you gave to the person?
And explain why you gave this gift to others
Answer

Well, now, im going to talk about a special gift that I took a lot of
time to find and choose. That gift was for my Maths teacher at my
secondary school, who i admired and considered as my second mother.
My teacher was born in September, but i had to think of what the
gift was from July. Fortunately, it coincided with my summer holiday
in Sapa. I immediately went shopping to look for some special things
when I reached there.
Unfortunately, there are a variety of products and I also do not know
about my teachers hobby. Therefore, finding a suitable job for her is
extremely a challenge for me.
After 2 days with careful considerations, i decided to buy a scarf
made from brocade fabric. It was magnificent and unique. I crushed
on that scarf at the first sight. I was satisfied because at least, i
had tried to find a meaningful gift for my beloved teacher. And she
seemed to love it a lot.

4.1. In Vietnam, when (on what occasions) do people give gifts to others?

Vietnamese people will send gifts at festivals or when they first meet
each other. Gifts can show your care for others. You will get presents
when you celebrate your birthday.
4.2. What sorts of things do they give?

Well there are multiple things that people can gifts to each other, you
know; from clothes, jewelry, souvenirs and even money, it depends on
what kind of event it is and who is the person that you are giving that
present to.
4.3. Do people today still give the same kinds of gifts that people used to
give, many years ago?

There are still many items that people love and do still give as gifts,
and while technology has changed some things, some gifts may still
come under the category of toys or games.
So, we have as gifts - games, toys, perfume, clothing, tickets, flowers,
jewelry, tools, equipment, wines and liquors, food, books, journals,
candy and more.
4.4. Why do people like to receive gifts?

Gifts can express their feeling and concern about someone. Peoples
relationship will be closer, when people get a gift, they always feel
happy, and they know that their friends or their family members
remember them.
4.5. What are some of the possible different reasons why give gifts to other
people?

There are a number of reasons to give gifts. The most obvious revolves
around "love". For some people, giving gifts is a love language. My
mother-in-law is one of these. She gets great pleasure in giving gifts,
and so she had made it an art. She spends a lot of time determining
what the right gift is for someone and then she finds it and gives it,
knowing that it will make someone smile.

Second are people whose love language is receiving gifts. These people
feel most loved when they get a gift.
Over and above that, it is also a cultural element.
In America, we give people gifts for birthdays, special occasions, and
holidays. In fact, in the American culture, giving a gift is almost an
expectation when we sneeze (I exaggerate of course). I went on a
business trip and I felt the obligation to bring a gift home to my son.
4.6. Do you think it's suitable to give money as a gift?

That really depends on the situation, and relationship between the two
people.
Logically speaking, when you bestow a person with money, they can
make use of the money to buy whatever they really need at the
moment. Or simply just save the money which later will be helpful in
times of need.
4.7. Do you think it's a good idea for people who are doing business
with each other to exchange gifts?
For sure yes. It only depends on the kind of a gift. A good relationship
is a base for long-term business. So its doesnt matter if people who
are doing business with customers or clients to give presents.
4.8. Why do some people not give gifts to others very often?
It totally depends upon their way of thinking, their relationship with
the people they know or their qualities.
Moreover, choosing perfects presents can really stress people out and
take a lot of time, besides that, people have to the habit or personality
of people who receive the presents.
Describe an interesting song
You should say:
What kind of song it is?
How you found it
What it is about
And explain why it is interesting to you

Answer
I really love music and over the years there are a lot of songs that
help me to get out of the rut that I am living in. But, the one song that
I really fell in love and have enjoyed over the years is Papa by Paul
Anka. It is a pop son
When it came out, it quickly became a hit on every single music chart
throughout the world, not just because of its catchy melody, but also
for its meaningful lyrics.
This song about love that the father gave to the child and the father
whos his wife died and he has not married again. He decided grow up
his son by himself.
Although this song is a sad song, it opens my eyes to many things in
life, try to live to your fullest so that one day you would not have to
regret that much about the journey that you have been through. Papa
is a really good song for self reflecting especially when you find
yourself lost in the super busy world nowadays

5.1. What do old people like to listen to?

In my opinion, they prefer to listen to news, weather forecasts which
help them to keep updated. In term of music, they prefer to listen
traditional music, I have noticed that elderly people usually listen
these things on radio or TV, unlike the young people who stream music
videos on the Internet or on the smart phone.
5.2. How would your grandfather feel if you gave him some hip hop
music?
I think they will get mad, Im kidding! In my view this kind of music is
modern music, its not suite for elderly people because the subject of
this kind usually contain sex, drugs or modern life style. These things
make it difficult for elderly people to enjoy them.
5.3. Why do you think old people like old songs?
In my opinion, its because people like things, in this case music, that
make them remember and feel associated with their youth and some of
those songs are linked to happy events or happy periods in their lives.
So when they listen this kind of music it helps them remind the pass
or when they were young, the places where they were born.
5.4. Why do you think people of different age groups have different
favorite songs?
In my view, Humans value different things at different ages. They
tend to choose music that reflects whatever is most important to
them at their particular age. Moreover, Because they grew up in
different eras. They each grew up listening to their parents era of
music, and every generation changes, so it just constantly morphed
over the ages.
5.5. What kinds of music do (small) children in Vietnam like to listen
to?
Originally, most Vietnamese children are fond of traditional folk songs
that are especially composed for them. However, with the advent of
technology, more particularly the internet, children have free access
a variety of online streams, which means they can now listen to any
kinds of music they want, this is why childrens taste in music is slowly
changing. They enjoy pop songs that are going viral on the internet in
place of traditional children songs (Ngoc Bachs answer, page 109).
5.6. What are the differences between popular music and the music
that (young) children like to listen to?
In my opinion, I dont think there are any differences between popular
music and the music that young children like to listen.
To explain my point, nowadays technology grow up very quickly, young
children easily find and listening music on the internet, it means that
they usually listen songs that other people listen, too.
Moreover, young children usually have an effect from their friend on
listening music.
5.7. Why do you think some people like to play instruments in the
open?
Many people play instruments purely for enjoyment. It is a hobby that
one can grow continually over time. Just as some people enjoy
collecting things, playing sports people also enjoy playing instruments.
It is important to note here that not all musicians perform publicly,
moreover, all musicians share a love for music. Quite often they not
only enjoy playing music but they also enjoy observing or hearing
others perform
On the other hand, playing music has always been a wonderful stress
reliever in my life. Whenever I have a stressful day or I simply need
to escape, I turn to music. Many musicians will talk about getting lost
in the moment. While playing their instrument nothing else matters.

6.1. What creative activities did you like to do when you were
young?
When I was around 5 to 13 years old, I was very much in love with
construction toys, especially LEGO and so I often spent hours every
day creating and building new houses, car that I wanted to and I like.
But when I got into elementary school, I became so much busier with
all the homework and exams that I barely had time to pursue my hobby
and eventually lost interest in LEGO.

6.2. Why do people like to copy others' ideas these days?

In my opinion, maybe they dont have any ideas. They thought this well,
so they end up following or stealing some creative persons ideas.
On the other hand, theres also the people that want to improve the
things that are already invented, like everything we have, computers,
cell phones, some people just get inspiration from something already
existent and there you go.
6.3. What's the best way to cultivate children's creativity?
For me, nothing works better than providing children with the urge
and motivation to be creative and be their true natures. Not only kids
but even grown-ups need to be regularly reminded that they can be
anything that they want to be and that they should not be afraid to
be different, think differently or act differently. Only when children
are encouraged to have breakthrough thinking from inside the box can
they have the freedom to express themselves and nurture their
creativity. (Ngoc Bachs answer, Page 115).
6.4. Do you think creativity can be learned?
Definitely Yes, however it is not that easy to start with. creativity is
about connecting information we have. Therefore, being creative is
about putting a lot of information in our brain and make connections
among those.
For example, if you want to be a good or creative designer, expose
yourself to good design, concentrate the spirit of good design, and mix
them up when you design your own product.
6.5. Why does art help to nurture creativity?
In my view, People have been using art to record events, express
thoughts, ideas, and beliefs, since the very beginning.
The part of our brain that allows us to create also allows us to solve
problems creatively.
Moreover, Human beings are not machines. Our brains are not
computer hard drives to which you can just upload information. I
believe that humans are creative by nature and that art education can
help to nurture the creativity that lies within all of us.
Describe something that you have shared
with others (or another person)
You should say:
what you shared
who you shared it with.
why you shared it and
explain how you felt about sharing it

Answer
In my opinion, this is an interesting topic, I believe that human is a
social being and we need to share so many things with our relatives,
friends and unknown persons in different occasions. I going to talk
about a time when I shared my computer with my younger sisters when
I was young.
Nowadays computer is an essential thing in each family and it is not a
special thing and the price of a computer is not expensive, but what I
want to say is when I was 16 I was living in my hometown which was
not rich place and at that time my life was really simple. On the 16th
birthday, my father gave me a computer like a gift, and he hoped that
it would help me study better. But I thought that it was not an
individual gift, so I decided to share it with my younger sisters,
together, we used it for studying and relaxing such as to look up
dictionary, watching videos, listening to music.
I think this device brought a lot of happiness for me and my younger
sisters and it is a good memory in my childhood so Im very glad with
my decision about sharing the computer.
50.1. Do people in your country prefer to share public transport or
do they prefer to use private transport?
In my opinion, Vietnamese people prefer to private vehicles rather
than public transportation. It is very easy to see why. People usually
use private motor bikes go to work or go to school because its more
convenience and faster than public transport like buses. Another
reason that people choose private vehicles because in big cities such
as Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, there are a lot of small roads that buses
cannot access.
50.2. Do many people in your country share their home with others
or do they mostly live alone?
Yes, I guess, I think most young adults such as students or workers
will choose to live in their own if they can afford it, but overall people
tend to share their home with others. The main reason is that they
can share the fee together.
50.3. Do you think there are many advantages when sharing your
home with other people?
Definitely yes, the most benefic is that you could save lots of money
when you share your home with others instead of paying the rent all
by yourself. Another benefit is when you get sick, your roommates may
take care of you, which hardly happens if you choose to live alone.

50.4. Would you ever share your food with someone else?
Yes, of course. I would be happy to share my food with others, you
know, we were learned about to be treat well to other people and kind,
and I think that when I help another people, in the future another
people will help me if I have a trouble situation.

ceremony took place at Sinh Doi Restaurant, it located district 3. His
wedding was decorated magnificent with a lot of lights, candles and
flowers around the restaurant. There were two glamorous wedding
photo albums, showing tables right at the center of the official gate.
The principal colors were likely to be white and violet. It was a casual
wedding; there were a lot of gentleman and beautiful ladies in there.
One of the best moments that really touched me was when my friend
sang a song for the bride and all the guests sang along with him. It was
no surprise that everyone clapped their hands and cheered them.
It was also a good chance to catch up with my old friends and we all
had a great time enjoyed together. I gave my friend a gift to
celebrate her wedding day. Yeah, it was a special present, because he
is a best friend and I wished her lots of happiness for the future.

Yes, definitely, you know! Im a business man so I have a lot of
customers, I think this is a good chance to meet others people and
make friends or to have a chance in my business in the other hand,
there was a good occasion to meet old friends and relatives.

Regarding Vietnamese culture, money is considered the most

symbol of richness. It should be placed in a white or red envelope. As
the Vietnamese are very practical, it is better not to give extravagant
gifts to them.
49.3. How do you think of the perfect age for marriage?
In my opinion, women should marry at around 20 to 35 years old, and
men in their 25s. Because at that time they are independent and can
be responsible for their own life. They may also have a good career
and financial status at that age in order to take care of their family.

ceremony and an ordinary one?
In the case of a fancy wedding, there is a perceived connection

the general anticipation of how successful the marriage will be. In
contrast, an ordinary wedding follows tradition and does not require a
huge amount of money to make it too formal and expensive.
49.6. Do women prefer to be single or to be married?
In my opinion, women who lived in the past they preferred to get

reason is that the lifestyle is getting more and more complex and
maybe they do not believe in the man.

Well, there must be a million reasons for marriage, but when a woman

a great effort to have a happy life together.

Nowadays, it is common for the relationship of many couples to break
down after marriage. One the most reason is people are getting
marriage too soon so between them have many misunderstandings and

Describe a short trip that you frequently
make (or, take) but dislike.
You should say:
Where you travel from and to
How often you make this trip
Why you make this trip
And explain why you dislike this trip.

I am going to talk about a journey that I usually take but I dont like.
You know my family and I have lived in Ho Chi Minh City for a long time,
however, we usually spend time visit my grandparents every weekend
in our hometown. It is located in Ben Tre province, which lies about
100 kilometer from Ho Chi Minh City.
This trip normally takes us at least 1 hour to get there by car. To be
honest, I usually get carsick, so I do not really enjoy traveling by car.
You know, it make me feel very tired and I have a terrible headache.
Although carsickness makes this trip difficult for me to put up with
even this short trip, I still try my best to take time to visit my
grandparents with my small family.
What I really enjoy are the beautiful landscapes of the countryside
that my hometown offers. Although it is so tough to stop my
carsickness, our family ties and the beauty of my small hometown will
keep drawing me back there.

48.1. Are there any special places for visiting in Vietnam?

Well, there are many famous locations in Vietnam but Dalat city is the
most beautiful in Vietnam. Dalat is a city located on Lang Biang
highlands part of the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. The city
looks like a cross between Vietnam and the French.
Tourists also choose to visit some famous beaches in Nha Trang, Da
Nang, or Phu Quoc, or if one likes high places with fresh air and a cool
climate, you can choose Da Lat, Sa Pa, or Ba Na Hills. Especially Ba Na
Hills. I must say its pretty popular these last couple of years.
48.2. Do Vietnamese people like to travel abroad?
Of course, they are, but it depends on ones financial situation and
personality. You know, travelling overseas is a chance of expending
horizon and improve their knowledge.
48.3. What can people benefit from travelling?
In my opinion, traveling has many benefits; I believe it is very
important to see the world and different cultures. It lets us open our
minds to new things and we get to experience life in different ways.
In addition, another great benefit is that traveling helps us to relax
and provides opportunities for us to share our happiness with our
friends and family.
48.4. Do you like to travel on your own or with your family?
I prefer traveling with my family, what I love about travelling is that
I can spend time enjoy myself with the people I love. Together, we can
share happy moment and improve our relationships; moreover, I like it
better when I took at photos of me and my family, all-smiling happily
rather than photos of only my face.
48.5. Do you like to visit popular places or less-known places?
In my opinion, I prefer going to less-known places,
You know, I have lived in Ho Chi Minh City for a long time, there are a
lot of noisy, and people in there. Therefore, I want to avoid the noisy
and polluted of big city or famous places, you know in popular paces,
there are full of tourists and noisy, it make me feel uncomfortable.
On the other hand, in less-known places, I can observe it by myself,
and this is a chance that I can look at myself and my life.
48.6. Do people prefer short trips or long trips?
In my opinion, short trips would be a better decision for me. I have to
confess that I have a hard time adapting to a new environment and a
long trip will cause me discomfort. I need more time to actually feel
comfortable living in a place than just several months; therefore, it
doesnt matter if the trip is for business.
48.7. What kinds of problems would people have when they go on a
long trip?
In my view, going a long trip would require a lot of traveling as you
need to visit different places, this thing would be tiring. Also, not many
places are suitable for a long trip. In fact, some destinations only
offer the best experience for tourists who stay there for 2 days. If
tourists say for too long, there would be no places left to visit and
then it would be boring.
