AERIAL SELF SUPPORTING

OPTICAL CABLE - AS
Product Type Optic Cable

Construction Dielectric
Jelly-filled or Dry core
Loose tubes
SM, NZDand MM

Description Singlemode, singlemode NZD,or multimodeoptical fiber cable. These fibers are
protected by jelly-filled loose tubes, which arestranded around a dielectric central
member. The cable core may be protected against water penetration by either
swellable materials (dry core) or by a jelly compound, in this case is applied over the
cable core an inner jacket. Dielectricyarns shall be applied to support tensile
strength. And this whole set is covered by a black thermoplastic Polyethylene
jacket.

Applications Installation Environment Outdoor

Operation Environment Self supporting Aerial

Standards Compliance
ITU-T G.652 "Standard for non-dispersion shifted single-mode fiber";
ITU-T G.655 "Standard for non-zero, dispersion-shifted single-mode fiber";
IEEE P1222 "Performance and Testing Standard for All-Dielectric,
Self-Supporting (ADSS) Optical Fiber Cable";
Bellcore TR-1121 "Generic Requirements for Self-Supporting Optical Fiber
Cable".

Constructive characteristic

Optical Fiber Singlemode, singlemode NZD and multimode optical fibers.

Buffer Tube Plastic buffer tube with filling compound to prevent water intrusion and migration.
The buffer tube shall protect the fibers against mechanical efforts.

Central Member Dielectric-material element located in the center of the core cable to prevent the
efforts of the cable tension.Ascentral member, it isapplied a bar of plasticmaterial
reinforced by FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) fiberglass.

Cabling The loose tubes are stranded around of central member to form the cable core. The
core must be protected withgel or water blocking material to prevent water
intrusion. If necessary, filler rods may be applied to maintain a cylindrical core.

Tensile Strength Yarns Dielectricyarns shall be applied over the cable core or over the inner jacket, if
applicable, to support tensile strength.
