A GENITIC ALGORITHM FOR CORRECTIVE CONTROL OF VOLTAGE AND REACTIVE

POWER

Description:
Electrical Engineer Profile 8/8/2010

In this project we developed an algorithm for calculating how much amount of

reactive power to be injected in each bus of IEEE 14 bus model for improving the
voltage profile within the limit. Here we are using FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission
System) devices for improving voltage stability. Genetic algorithm is an optimization
algorithm, which is very accurate and fast. Thus we reduced the loss and we able to
generate power economically.
