Pledge of Allegiance Choral Reading

This choral reading is set up with 5 groups and 4 - 21 individual students.


It is written so it can be presented to another class or grade.
Modify it as needed for your class.

________: We would like to present a choral reading to you. It will


explain what the Pledge of Allegiance really means. Please
stay seated until the end of our presentation.

All: I pledge allegiance to the flag


of the United States of America,
and to the Republic, for which it stands,
one Nation under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.

Group 1: I pledge

________: A pledge is a solemn promise,

________: or an agreement to do your part.

Group 2: I pledge allegiance

________: Allegiance is to show loyalty,

________: or commitment to something or someone.

Group 3: I pledge allegiance to the flag

________: The flag is a symbol of the United States of America.

________: Sometimes its called the Stars and Stripes or Old


Glory.
Group 4: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the
United States of America

________: The United States of America is the country in which we


live.

________: It consists of 50 states and our state is called Idaho.

Group 5: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the


United States of America, and to the Republic for which it
stands

________: The Republic is a form of government.

________: In a Republic, the people choose those who will represent


them.

Group 1: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of


America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one
Nation under God

________: Nation is another word for country.

________: Everyone in our country has the freedom to worship God.

Group 2: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of


America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one
Nation under God, indivisible

________: Indivisible means something cant be divided.

________: Our country is made up of 50 separate states, but they all


are together under one government.
Group 3: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of
America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one
Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty

________: Liberty is to have a freedom of choice.

________: Citizens of our country have the freedom to speak, worship


and gather wherever and whenever they want.

Group 4: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of


America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one
Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice

________: Justice is fairness. Citizens have to follow the laws of our


country.

________: To be fair, if someone thinks you broke a law, you have the
right to prove you didnt. This justice is for everyone.

________: Will you please stand, face the flag, put your right
hand over your heart, and join us in reciting the Pledge of
Allegiance.

(Wait for everyone to get ready.)

________: Ready, begin.

All: I pledge allegiance to the flag
