Welcome to the fabulous fourth grade! I'm Mrs. Sahagun and I'm excited to have you in
my class! I'm new to Three Peaks Elelmentary but not new to Iron County School District. I have
taught for over fifteen years and nine of those have been in Iron County. I'm looking forward to
getting to know you better. I hope you've enjoyed your summer break and are now ready to get
back into the routine of school.
You may be wondering what youll need to start the school year off right. The things that
are most important to your learning cant be bought at a store. The most important things for you
to bring to school are a positive attitude, a desire to learn, and a willingness to work hard. When
you come to school with all of these things, anything is possible! So wear a smile, be curious,
and be willing to work hard because there is so much to learn!
Here are just a few things yhou can look forward to learning this coming school year: In
math you'll learn fractions, decimals, long division, and more. During science you'll learn about
weather, rocks, fossils, animals, and environments in Utah. You'll also learn about Utah history.
You'll learn how to write a personal narrative, work on your persuasive writing skills, and have
many opportunities to improve as a reader. I can't wait to get started.
My promise to you is that I will come to school with a positive attitude, a desire to help
you learn, and a willingness to work hard. Together well achieve more than you ever thought
possible. Our class motto is Never settle for less than your best!

Supplies you'll need:

This year instead of providing you with a list of supplies to bring on the first day of school, I'm
asking you to bring a five dollar donation for your supplies. This will allow me to purchase all
the supplies you'll need for the school year. If there are new suplies you want for school you can
purchase those for your use at home.

Bring with you:

1. Lunch or lunch money
2. Favorite book to read
3. Backpack

Dates to Remember:
Thursday, August 10th Back to School Night
There will be no Open House or General Meeting in the gym. Instead there will be a thirty

Tuesday, August 15th. First day of school.

School will begin at 8:55 a.m. each day and dismisses at 3:30 each day except Wednesdays,

Together were going to build a great year!!
