Section A

1. What is meant by a client server network?

client/server network. A computer network in which one centralized, powerful computer (called the
server) is a hub to which many less powerful personal computers or workstations (called clients) are
connected.

2. What is a server in networking?

In a technical sense, a server is an instance of a computer program that accepts and responds to requests
made by another program, known as a client. Less formally, any device that runs server software could be
considered a server as well. Servers are used to manage network resources.Apr 26, 2017

3. What is the difference between a peer to peer network and a client server network?
There's a huge difference between client/server and peer-to-peer networks. For instance, a peer-to-peer
network has no central server. Each workstation on the network shares its files equally with the others.
There's no central storage or authentication of users.

4. What is the difference between a server and a client?

In simplest form, a server is a connection point for several clients, that will handle their requests. A client
is software that (usually) connects to the server to perform actions. The client provide a user interface that
allows users to carry out actions.Aug 29, 2013

5. What is the client?

A client is a piece of computer hardware or software that accesses a service made available by a server.
The server is often (but not always) on another computer system, in which case the client accesses the
service by way of a network.

Section B
Client-server architecture (client/server) is a network architecture in which each computer or process on
the network is either a client or a server. Servers are powerful computers or processes dedicated to
managing disk drives (file servers), printers (print servers), or network traffic (network servers ).
Using PACKET TRACER software, design a network architecture consist of 1 server, 5 clients and 2 printers.
