academic standing of being part of the top 30 percent of their batch, semester after semester.

COMPANY HISTORY
Built on the conviction that education is one of the keys to a better future for the country, the
Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) was set up in 1992 to help uplift the socio-economic
condition of the Filipinos through the funding of educational projects.
GBF has donated facilities and scholarships to various schools, and supported educational
programs of different institutions such as: Immaculate Concepcion Academy, Xavier School, De
La Salle University, the University of Asia and the Pacific and the University of San Carlos. A
significant endowment by the foundation to the Ateneo de Manila University led to the John
Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM), a regional center for management education. To
further strengthen the field of engineering in our country, GBF gave a significant endowment to
In addition, GBF partnered with the Aklat, Gabay, Aruga tungo sa Pag-Angat at Pag-Asa
(AGAPP) Foundation, to build schoolhouses in underprivileged public school compounds. The
foundation also donated its prime lot in Ortigas for the EDSA Shrine.
GBF's other endeavors include a Technical Training Center for skilled graduates in various
engineering fields. In 2007 and 2009, GBF granted more than 70 young Filipinos with 10-month
scholarships to study the language, dynamics and booming economy of China. These scholars
spent several months studying in prestigious universities in China, in the hopes of strengthening
the Philippines' global competitiveness in the context of the world's fastest growing economy.
I seek help to our attending advisor how to use it and I also search it in the internet.
SUMMARY REPORT
At the moment I heard that we were taking our on the job training in Gokongwei Brothers
Foundation, I was a bit nervous. A one 240 hours of work, wake up early every weekdays and a
free cups of coffee and snacks from Mam Lovely shes so nice and cool. Although some
expectations satisfied, more unexpected things happened. We were treated very well by our advisers, Engr. Arjay,
Engr. Regie , Engr. Edison, Engr Lovely, Engr. Glessie and mostly Ms. Norway . There was no trouble in
finding the things that I needed to do specially in work matters. They informed me on the things
to do and guided me with every step. It can be said that they spoon fed us, but, although they
were too kind, we started all by ourselves. I learned how the document process go through the
department , what are the corresponding document need to satisfy in order for the one process
document go through. Actually, the experience I had was proof that learnings is not only got
from school but most of it comes from our experience in life (work) which was not though in
school . Although when theres a delay in logged of document and continuous flow of papers on
my table, I were able to accomplish the job well. When there is a birthday party they always
share the foods I remember when Engr. Manuel (Director ) over flowing food I saw on the table
and that days was full of fun and happy moments. Well, it is expected that when I leave corporate
division my whole experience there will become a memories, memories that Im sure kept on
remembering that Im surely never fade away on my mind. Having our OJT in Gokongwei
Brothers Foundation changed my view on work matters. I realized that when its come to work its
not only a work place but a home for new family yet in home some come and go like I was my
On the Job Training has come to an end so maybe its time for me to further to another new things
in life. I enjoyed my 240 hours in Gokongwei Brothers Foundation.
facility. Theres a lot of many things that are new to me like instrumentation section, mechanical
section, process automation section, sensor section and plc section. Being unfamiliar with this
facilities give me the enthusiasm to learn new things that would enchance my knowledge
technically.
Our work starts at 8 pm till 5 pm, during Mondays we are on the admin department. Our duties
are to help the instructors provide manuals and check the number of participants present on the
said day.On Tuesdays we are on the electrical section. We usually do some wiring and
diagraming depending on the circuit presented. On Wednesdays we are assigned at the PLC
section. On Thursday we are in the process automation section. While on Fridays we are back on
the admin to assist the instructors.
Two hundred fourty hours of On the Job training is so very short in able to learn more and to
experience more things, My one 240 hours was not wasted on nothing but in this allotted time
frame I was able to meet new friends and people who were so kind and mostly I know that this
time frame was so very short to able to learn more to know more and to experience more not
only on my career as to become a Engineer someday but to able experience the real life setting
in the near future.
