Venue for Counselling: Convocation Hall, IIT Roorkee
1. Timings for Counselling will be displayed on the Institute website and outside the counselling venue.
2. You must report for Written Test/ Interview/Counselling at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
3. Candidates appearing for the written test in any department/Centre can appear for Interview in other department(s), before or after
the written test is over. The merit lists based on test/interview/normalized GATE will be displayed at Convocation Hall before
the start of counselling.

Attention:
1. Counselling for candidates appearing in interview/test will be as per merit.
2. Proving the eligibility i.e. minimum qualifications, category, Gate Discipline, its validity, etc as given in the Information Brochure-2017
and or claiming reservation under any category applied for, to the satisfaction of the Institute will be the sole responsibility of the
candidate. These documents can be verified by the institute at any time/stage.

Please note the following requirements and bring self attested copies with originals at the time of Interview/Written Test/
Counselling and also registration:
GENERAL
1. You should appear in person for the Interview/Written Test and Counselling (as applicable) as per the schedule given.
2. You will be allowed to appear for Interview/Written Test and counselling (as applicable) only on producing this letter
and the original valid GATE score card.
3. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should bring the ca tegory certificate (in original) issued by a competent authority as
given in Annexure-4 of the Information Brochure-2017. In case, it is not proved, he/she will be treated as a General category
candidate.
4. Candidates belonging to OBC category must produce certificate issued after March 31, 2016 by any of the authorities
specified in Annexure-4 on the latest format prescribed by the Govt. of India (given on the Institute website
http://pgadm.iitr.ernet.in). No other certificate in the format other given on the Institute website will be acceptable.
You must also bring original copy of category certificate at the time of registration. Please note that category in
which you belong must be available in the list of Other Backward Classes issued by the Central Govt. of India in its
latest notification failing which your case will be considered only if their name stands in the merit list of General
Category.
5. The PD (Persons with Disability) candidates will be required to appear before the Institute Medical Board at IIT Hospital on
30.05.2017 (Tuesday) at 9.00 a.m. positively, failing which you will not be eligible for counselling under the PD category.
The PD (Persons with Disability) candidates must bring original (along w ith self attested copy) of Medical Deficiency
Certificate, issued by the Government Medical Board.
6. A candidate registered provisionally without production of proof of passing the qualifying examination but has already
appeared in the back paper(s)/supplementary(ies), if any and or result of the qualifying examination is not declared till
date of registration i.e. July 13, 2017 will be required to submit a certificate on the format as at Annexure-5 of PG
Information Brochure-2017.
7. The candidates shall bring all previous semesters/ years marks sheets to check minimum qualification, etc. If you have not yet
completed your qualifying degree and have appeared or due to appear in the final year examination, your admission, if
offered, shall be provisional subject to the condition that you must have completed the course (s) and appeared in all the
examinations before the date of registration i.e. July 13, 2017 and you can produce the proof of having passed the qualifying
degree with the required percentage /CGPA latest by September 29, 2017, failing which your admission/registration shall
stand cancelled automatically.
8. Your acceptance to join the Institute will be taken as your acceptance to abide by all conditions stated above and also the
ordinances/regulations or standing orders issued by the institute authorities from time to time. Non -observance of any of these
conditions or rules, regulations, orders etc. can lead to your removal from the institute.
9. The Institute reserves the right to withhold the result / c ancel the admission at any time during the stay of a candidate at the
Institute, if considered necessary in the interest of the Institute or because of his / her submitting false information/ fac ts.
10. It should be noted that you wil l have to attend the Interview/written test and/or Counselling (as applicable) for PG admission
at your own expenses. IIT Roorkee will not bear any expense in this regard. It may please be noted clearly that no
requests for change of date(s) for Interview/Written Test/Counselling will be entertained in any circumstances.
11. Any deficiency in documents, non completion of the qualifying examination before the date of registration i.e. July 1 3, 2017 or
non submission of any of the documents by stipulated date will lead to cancellation of admission/registration.
INSTITUTE FEE/WAITLISTED FEE/PROCESSING FEE
12. If you are offered admission at the time of counseling, you will have to deposit, a demand draft of Rs. 25,480/- (for
GENERAL/OBC category candidates) and Rs. 20,480/- (for SC/ST category candidates) in favour of Chairman, PG
Admission, IIT Roorkee, payable at Roorkee only towards Institute Fees (including Rs. 1000/ - counselling / processing fee).
PD candidate shall pay Institute fees at par with the category to which they belong i.e. Gen/OBC/SC/ST.
13. At the time of registration, you shall also be required to deposit Rs. 18400/- on account of security and Mess Advance for
one semester by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Chairman, CCB, IIT Roorkee, payable at Roorkee.
14. If you are not offered admission at the time of Counselling as per merit, you may get yourself waitlisted for a programme(s) as
per preference given in the application form, by depositing a sum of Rs. 25480/- for GENERAL/OBC category and Rs.
20,480/- for SC/ST category as waitlist fee by demand draft drawn in favour of Chairman, PG Admission, IIT Roorkee,
payable at Roorkee only towards Institute Fees (including Rs. 1000/ - counselling / processing fee). This amount will be
adjusted against Institute Fee, if admission is offered and accepted later.
15. If a candidate declines the offer made within a stipulated time i.e. before the date of registration, notified by Institute, amount
deposited towards Institute Fee s etc. (excluding counseling/processing fee) will be refunded. In case, the Institute is not in a
position to offer admission to a waitlisted candidate, full amount including counselling / processing fee will be refunded to the
candidate.
16. If you want to withdraw the admission after registration (i.e. July 13, 2017) , you have to submit written request duly forwarded
by the concerned Head of the Department of IIT Roorkee in person only in PG Admission Office.
