EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP - RECOGNIZE GOD

IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS

the bulletin. another, loved one or stranger. Sometimes it may even
be an event that seems unexplainable, perhaps even su-
pernatural. These occurrences may be the answer to
prayer or they may surprise us by coming out of no-
where. But no matter their nature or origin, they give us
hope and strength to carry on through life.

When we journey on a pathway of stewardship, we are

bound to experience moments of grace where we see
even the smallest seeds we planted grow into something
amazing. At these moments, we are reminded that God
is real and that our stewardship is not in vain. The giv-
ing of our gifts and talents is not just a response to
God's calling. The giving is one way that God breaks
through into the lives of others. As we use what God
has given us for his glory, he uses us as instruments of
Saints of the Week grace to be truly present to others.

The greatest example of this occurs at the Mass.

Sharing the Gospel
Previews give us a quick peek at a movie,
in hopes that we will want to see more. In
today's Gospel, we celebrate Jesus'
Transfiguration. That's when God gave
Peter, James and John a preview of the
risen Jesus, the Jesus they would see again
one day. Jesus glowed brightly. Moses and
Elijah came to talk with Jesus. Then a great
cloud covered everyone, and God said
Jesus was his Son. Jesus was the Savior that
God's people had been waiting for.

Prayer
Dear God, thank you for showing us through
your Word that Jesus is our Savior. Amen.

Something to Draw
Draw a picture of Jesus glowing on top of the
mountain.

Mission for the Week

Read today's Gospel with your family. What
would have surprised you most about seeing
Jesus like that on top of the mountain?

A lesson from Eckhart Tolle, spiritual

teacher ..

Forgive yourself for the past.

There is a fine balance between honoring

the past and losing yourself in it. You
definitely cannot cut out your past.
However, you can acknowledge your past,
learn from the mistakes you have
committed and apply your learning to the
present. Forgive yourself for the mistakes
you have committed and start a new page.
