Be respectful.
This classroom is a text-free zone. Emergencies should be discussed with me...dont assume
you can use it.

Eat your food outside of the classroom. Covered water bottles are allowed.

Be respectful of the person talking, whether it is me or a fellow student. This means

pausing your conversations or your music, taking both earbuds out, and facing the speaker.

Be respectful of boundaries. My workroom and my desk are off limits unless you are given
permission.

Be respectful of the classroom. Treat the supplies with care, use them wisely and if
something happens, let me know so I can fix it. Do not deface any classroom property. If this
happens you will assigned work detail and/or no longer permitted to use that supply.

Be honest.
You are assigned a seat all year long. This is done for a reason and I expect you to sit at your
assigned seat each day. Occasionally, I will allow you to pick your own seat, but only if the class
has been working hard. ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN BY SEATING CHART. IF YOU ARE
NOT IN YOUR SEAT, YOU WILL BE MARKED ABSENT.

You should always be able to hear me. During class, I may occasionally interrupt your work to
explain something. Because of this, I expect you to only have one earbud in at all times.

Be dedicated.
Restroom use is only permitted with a pass. I will not allow anyone to leave during the first
or last ten minutes of class. If you abuse this privilege, you will be given a limited number of
bathroom passes.

Pencils: This is the only supply you will need. If you need to borrow one from me, you will be
allowed three chances per quarter. You will sign your name and/or hand me an I.D. card (which
you should always have). If you continue to borrow a pencil from me daily, we will have a
discussion about why you need to do that.
You are in high school. I expect you to act like it - if you are respectful of me, the classroom and
your peers, we will all get along fine. However, if you choose to disobey the rules, there will be
consequences.
