Problem 1

Problem 2

Requirements:

a. Construct a frequency distribution with seven (7) number

of class intervals and interpret some of the results.
b. Summary statistics using data analysis
3. A researcher reports that the average salary of sales
managers in Metro Manila is more than P42,000.00 per month. A
sample of 30 Sales Managers has a mean salary of P43,800. At
= 0.05, test the claim that sales managers earn more than
P42,000.00 per month.The standard deviation is P5,400.
[Note: The critical or tabulated value is Z = 1.645]
Requirements:
a. Formulate the null and alternative hypotheses.
b. What is the level of significance?
c. Is it a one tailed test or a 2-tailed test?
If your answer is one tailed test then is it a right
tailed or a 2-tailed tests?
d. Perform the steps in hypothesis testing.
What is the decision, reject or accept the null
hypothesis?

4. In a study to determine a persons yearly income 10 years

After high school, it was found out that the two biggest
predictors are number of math courses taken and number of
hours worked per week during a persons senior year of high
school. The multiple regression equation generated from a
sample of 20 individuals is

Y = 6,000 + 4,540 X1 + 1290 X2

Let X1 represent the number of mathematics courses taken and

X2 represent hours worked. The correlation between
income and mathematics courses is 0.63. The
correlation between income and hours of worked is
0.84, and the correlation between mathematics
courses and hours worked is 0.31. Use the foregoing
information to answer the following questions:

1. What is the dependent variable?

2. What is the independent variable?
3. What are the multiple regression assumptions?
4. Explain what 4540 and 1290 in the equation tell us.
5. What is the predicted income if a person took 8 math
classes and worked 20 hours per week during her or
his senior year in high school?
6. What does a multiple correlation coefficient of 0.77
mean?
7. Compute R2
8. Would the equation be considered a good predictor of
income?
9. What are your conclusions about the relationship
between courses taken , hour worked, and yearly
income?
