Burj Al Arab

It is a luxury hotel with a height of 321 meters, being the fourth highest
hotel in the world (surpassed by Abraj Al Bait, Rose Rotana and Hotel
Ryugyong) and one of the most representative hotel buildings. It is located
on the sea, on an artificial island located 270 meters from the beach in the
Persian Gulf, which is connected to mainland by a street.
characteristics
The construction of the building began in 1994 and was officially
inaugurated on December 1, 1999. Its shape is inspired by a sailboat and is
located in a specific area with the aim that its shade does not cover the
beach. On the roof of the hotel is a heliport, which was used as a tennis
court for an advertisement in which they participated Andre Agassi and
Roger Federer; But this, despite what many believe, is not used as a tennis
court.
The interior decoration of the building was in charge of the Chinese designer
Khuan Chew. The instructions that Sheikh of Dubai gave to Chew for the
design of the suites and the atrium were to impact and innovate. Khuan and
his team used large quantities of marble, velvet and gold leafs to decorate
it.
Six months before the inauguration, the sheikh visited the hotel to give his
opinion. The majesty of the suites met his expectations of luxury and
grandeur, but when he saw the painted atrium of a white minimalist, he
failed. The decorator had to redesign the appearance of the lobby, adding
bright colors to the ceiling, dancing water fountains, a show of multicolored
lights and giant aquariums.
People from more than 80 countries work in the hotel, which must follow a
rigorous selection process in order to serve the guests in their native
language.
Bedrooms
This hotel is run by Jumeirah Group. Despite its size, Burj Al Arab alone has
202 en suite rooms. The smallest suite occupies an area of 169 m, while
the largest suite covers 780 m. Prices range from $ 2,500 to $ 40,000 USD
per night. The suites' design links east and west. The bathrooms are
amosaicados. The Royal Suite, priced at US $ 137 716 per night, is ranked in
the world's top 15 most expensive hotel rooms by CNN Go in 2012.
Restaurants
The Burj Al Arab has nine restaurants, among them Al Mahara - located
under the sea, offering an underwater view through a stained glass in the
form of an aquarium - and the Al Muntaha, located 200 meters high,
allowing a view Panoramic view of the city of Dubai. The latter is located on
a cantilevered platform that extends 27 meters on each side of the mast;
And you have access to it through a panoramic lift. In their kitchen they
perform famous chefs. According to the experience of some customers, the
reservation for these restaurants should be made, at least, one month in
advance.
