Rules and regulations in Ladies and Mens Hostel

1. Inmates must check in by 7.00 pm

2. Room furniture, electrical fittings etc. are to be maintained in good condition
3. Student should vacate the hostel during summer vacation
4. If the students have to leave any belongings in the hostel during the vacation period they
should contact the hostel manager. Such belongings under their own risk will be kept in a
single common room for all inmates .
5. Nominal cloakroom charges will be levied for each item kept in under safe custody
6. Students shall occupy the rooms only after allotment is made by the chief warden/manager
7. Change of room will not be permitted in any case
8. Unauthorised occupation of a any room or exchange of room is not permitted
9. No parent or guardian of a student is permitted to stay in the hostel
10. Visitors are not permitted in the hostel
11. Student shall not leave the headquarters without prior permission of chief warden /
Manager
12. Those students who are leaving the headquarters shall have to apply for permission in
writing in advance stating the reason for leaving and address of destination
13. Students who leave the hostel without the application and prior permission from the
concerned authorities shall be deemed to be missing and their parents / guardian or even
the police authorities may be intimidated
14. Hostel student shall not harbour any unauthorised person(s) in the hostel
15. Student organisation/union leaders are not allowed to meet the student at the hostel at any
time.
16. The students of the hostel should not leave the hostel premises on holidays for the purpose
of excursion or picnic without prior permission of Chief Warden. However for any accident
or fatality, that may occur during picnic/ excursion, the responsibility does not lie with the
institute or hostel authorities.
17. Students are not permitted to take any article/ utensils, etc. Outside the hostel / mess
premises and even to his room
18. No association of students on the basis of religion/caste/creed is permitted.
19. No secret activities or meetings are permitted on the hostel premises.
20. Residents shall refrain from any act, covert or overt, that may destroy or disturb the peace
and harmony among the residents and on the campus.
21. No hostel inmate shall take the law into his own hands.
22. Keeping of lethal weapons like sticks , roads, chains, etc. In the hostel room is strictly
prohibited.
23. The hostel cannot be considered as the hiding place for miscreants
24. Ragging of any kind is severely punishable as per Prohibition of Ragging Act 1997 and 2002
25. Student who have finished the four year of course work but yet to pass some examinations,
such students will not be given accommodation in the hostel
26. Hostel area is declared out of bounds to back-loggers. Therefore the stay of any back-loggers
in the hostel will be treated as a case of trespass
27. Hostel inmates who are found guilty of misconduct or guilty of infringement of any rules
shall be liable to fine , suspension, ,rustication or dismissal either from the hostel and/or
from the institute or both by the appropriate authorities.
28. Accommodation n the hostel cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
29. The consumption or storage or supply of liquor or any sort of intoxicant is strictly prohibited.
30. No medical facilities can be provided in the campus other than first-aid.
31. Residents shall not get involved in arguments or otherwise interfere with the duties of
employees of the hostel. If there is any complaint or suggestion to be made, it shall be made
to the warden concerned
32. The use of motor vehicles such as Car, Motor-cycle ,Scooter, Mopeds, etc. By the student is
strictly prohibited inside the hostel premises
33. No-one should use the belonging of other student without their consent
34. Any damage to the properties and equipments and other fittings in the common hall, the
inmates are collectively responsible and recoverable from the students.
35. For any loss of valuables in the hostel rooms, the hostel authority will not be responsible.
36. Students should lock their rooms properly when they go out for their bath, mess, etc.
37. Use of all unauthorised electrical appliances such as heaters, etc. is strictly prohibited.
38. For the use of desktop computers and printers in the hostel room the prior permission may
be taken from the Chief Warden/ Principal through proper registration. However the usage
of laptop is permitted.
39. A student who wishes to take his personal computer/ laptop outside the hostel will have to
contact the chief warden in person and get permission by producing the original bill of
purchase of computer and identity cards
40. Fans and lights must be switched off when the students leave their rooms. Light must be
switched off positively when they go to bed
41. Every student must dine in the hostel mess only. Individual / group cooking in the room is
not allowed
42. Playing music and videos, etc., inside the rooms is strictly prohibited.
43. Every inmate of the hostel shall pay the mess bill and other charges before the stipulated
date of every month, failing which fines will be imposed as per rules.
44. The room of any student in the hostel can be inspected at any time by Chief Warden/
Principal / authorised member of the institute staff / district police officials. Inmates are
advised to keep their ID cards with them and must produce on demand.
45. Hostel inmates are requested to maintain their surroundings neat and clean.
46. Student should not break open or try to break open the occupied / vacant rooms of the
hostel
47. Inmates should not fire crackers on any occasion inside the hostel or within the premises of
the hostel
48. Inmates are prohibited from writing slogans or any writing obscene drawings on hostel walls
or rooms.
49. Inmates should not play cricket, football,etc. in the common halls or inside or in front of the
hostel
