• Board Power Input Tabs must be supplied with 120 volts VAC to operate properly
unless board is labeled: - MODIFIED FOR 220 VOLTS -
• The phase of the line power connections to processor board Power Input Tabs
determine zero crossing reference for dimming modules.
• Connect RS-422/232 cable to DB-25 Connector
• Connect PROlink cable to PROlink Connector
• Use 16 position Rotary Switch to set pack number ( 1-16 )
• All status LEDs are visible through panel cover
• Channel status LEDs indicate relative light level of channel dimmer;
The red LED glows bright when the dimmer module is full ON,
and does not glow when the channel is OFF
• The Power LED indicates the processor board has power and is functioning properly.
If the board has power, but the LED is not lit, call AMX for help.

• Each Prodigy provided with three copper Line Input Terminal Block jumpers
CAUTION ---
• All four line terminals (A, B, C, D) must receive 120 volts for proper operation
WARNING !
• DO NOT apply 220 volts to Line Input Terminal Block unless labeled
- MODIFIED FOR USE WITH 220 VOLT LINE INPUTS -
Phase If two or more lights simultaneously fade in an erratic, uneven fashion, the Prodigy dimmer
has probably been wired out of phase. The primary cause of phase problems occurs when
the breakers or control voltage connectors to dimmer modules are moved. Have electrician
check or correct power wiring.
Each dimmer module gets its zero crossing level reference from the phase of the voltage
supplied to the Line Input Terminal Block. (i.e. Line Input A powers modules #1 AND #4. )
An Out-Of-Phase condition will happen when a module powered from one phase is
controlled by a channel referenced to a different phase.

RECORD -25 13- +10 V DC (Common for Presets)
Pins 13-24 can be used for contact closure playback of presets 1-11, with the voltage from Pin
13 to trigger the preset. For example, a momentary closure from pins 13 to 14 will playback
Preset 1. When Pin 25 (Record) is jumped to pin 13 (+10V DC), pins 14-23 change to Record
Preset mode. In this mode, closing pins 14 and 13 will record the current levels of channels
as Preset 1. The duration of the contact will determine the fade time of the preset - if the
contact is held for five seconds, Preset 1 will be recorded as a 5-second fade.
As shown in Cables, Pin 6 must be jumped to Signal Ground (Pins 7 and 1) to enable RS-
232/422 communication. The Prodigy is normally controlled via RS-422; RS-232 may be used
when Pin 4 is also jumped to ground.
PROlink If the Device numbers are correct on each Prodigy, check the PROlink wiring between
CABLE enclosures. Connections should be made as below. Always disconnect main power to Prodigy if
rewiring of the PROlink cables needs to be performed.
