Release Note/Manual Supplement

This document describes the features in the T-8606 product for its 3.60(ARE.0)G0 release.
For new Green product manufacturing, the model ID changed from TA to ARE.

Known Issues:
1. Management port test fail in 100M long cable.
2. Management port has compatible issue with Cnet Pro 2000 network interface card.
3. The packets which destination address is marked in the filter setting will always send to
port 1.
4. Symbol and dribble error packets will count into FCS error counter.
5. Filtering: In some special cases, setting one MAC with discard-source will cause device
filter all packets with this MAC, ether source MAC or destination MAC.
6. Do not suggest cooperate LACP with RSTP more than ten ports.
7. Do not support tagged frame forwarding in the Port-Based VLAN.
8. Some commands do not support question mark as postfix to display help message.
9. The user should specify the name of filter rules to make it be shown on running-config.
10. The user should specify the name of rules in static mac to make it be shown on running-
config.
11. When setting out-of-band default gateway will cause error message, but the function
work well.
12. The sequences of date-time server related entries are wrong in system generated script.
This will result in restoring config fail.
13. The port test will fail when enabling all ports port authentication function.
14. New login account has the privilege to set DHCP Relay function.
15. Login account can be duplicated.

Fix:
1. RMON eventTable and alarmTable.
2. Ping test instance(tlabPingCtlEntry)
3. CLI improper behavior after typing ?
4. The ports in blocking state do not block VLAN-tagged BPDU.
5. Allow the IP stacks with same IP address in different VLANs in VPS.
6. CLI of bandwidth control on port does not work.
7. Link down faults should not be reported if the port is administratively down,
8. STP is not working.
9. Destroying static VLAN entry fail via SNMP.
10. PLT IP stack instance can be created for a non-existing VLAN ID
11. Erase running-config CLI command did not work when configured with plenty of VLANs
and packet loop test IP stack instances
12. Remote Management list dont work while user set more than one rule via CLI.
13. Fix display of DATEANDTIME type in MIB
14. Fix VLAN configuration doesnt work via SNMP.
15. Remove frame length check to operate STP normally.

Firmware Upgrade:

The T-8606 uses FTP to upgrade firmware in run-time through its built-in FTP server. You
can use any FTP client (for example, ftp.exe in Windows) to upgrade T-8606. The upgrade
procedure is as follows:

Upgrade T-8606 FW:

C:\> ftp <T-8606 IP address>
User : admin
Password: 1234

ftp> put 360ARE0G0.BIN ras
ftp> bye

Where
User name : the management user name, admin by default
Password : the management password, 1234 by default
360ARE0G0.BIN : the name of firmware file you want to upgrade
ras : the internal firmware name in T-8606

Configuration Upgrade:

The T-8606 uses FTP to upgrade configuration in run-time through its built-in FTP server.
You can use any FTP client (for example, ftp.exe in Windows) to upgrade T-8606. The
upgrade procedure is as follows:

Upgrade T-8606 configuration:

C:\> ftp <T-8606 IP address>
User : admin
Password: 1234

Where
User name : the management user name, admin by default
