Lesson Procedures

Opening

To open my lesson and to start off the class each student will be receiving a small cup of
M&Ms. Each different color represents a different question that they will answer about
themselves or their summer.
EF Directions: There are 5 questions on the board. Each of you will be receiving a baggie of
M&M, Do not eat, you will be answering the questions using the colors of M&Ms that you
receive, you all may not have all of the questions hands out M&Ms, Who will be the first to
share?
This will lead into the class getting to know me and them being able to ask questions that they
would like to know ( with some exceptions)
Today you all will be able to get to know me a little better, we will discuss classroom
procedures, and talk about our classroom expectations.
As learners today we will need to be respectful to each other and participate.

Differentiation

First will be PP about me and allow students to ask their questions. Text.
Next, We will go over the procedures for the classroom:
1. Chromebooks: They will only be used when I have instructed
everyone to do so. When they are being used only for the what
is going on in class; there will be no toleration of doing other
assignments or being on websites that are not allowed.
2. Cell phones: No cell phones in class unless otherwise told.
They should be put away and turned off.
3. Food and Drinks: No food in class and the only drink is water
4. Fidget Spinners: They are allowed to be used during times of
lecture and when working alone. They are to have two fingers
on them at all times and should be held down as to not distract
other students. They will not be used during labs or activities
that involve using your hands or a lot of movement.
Thirdly we will discuss classroom expectations:
I will already have Be responsible and Be respectful on the sheet, The
students will discuss and come up with more expectations that they
believe should go on in a classroom that will help them learn. They
will all have to sign the sheet and that will be them knowing that this is
what is expected of them.

EF Directions: Today we will have a group discussion where we as a


class will determine what we think should be the classroom
expectations. This is a discussion and not a debate so we need to
respect what everyone has to say

After classroom expectations each student will be using their


chromebooks to take a multiple intelligence test so that I can better
understand how each of my students learn.

There will also be a short 3 question pre assessment from my first


lesson for the next day;
1. What is an important date for FFA?
2. Does FFA stand for anything?
3. How many students are in FFA?
This will be done on a piece of paper that they will hand in as the exit
the class.

Closure

Today we discussed the classroom procedures and expectations, Who can tell us an
expectation? Who can tell us a procedure that they class must follow?
