You have made a wonderful decision by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. You have now been made
alive unto God by the Spirit of God to live in the realm of faith. You were born of the Spirit of God the minute you

accepted Christ as your personal Savior, thus you are born again.

We offer to our new members a New Members Orientation course which is comprised of seven classes (the seventh
is a transitional class). These classes cover several basic Baptist Biblical principles that are essential to us as Bap-
tist. As a Christian, you will have to prepare yourself against evil and sin, and your weapon is the Word of God. Here
at Mt. Sinai we are a Bible based church and it is our desire to provide the Word of God to all of our members and
the world. This is accomplished through our Bible Study, Sunday School, the Preached Word and various ministries
offered here at The Mount. Educating the Saints of God through teaching the Word of God is our mission.

Congratulations and Welcome again. I am glad that the Lord led you to join us here at Mount Sinai Missionary Bap-
tist Church, Inc. This is the place where the Spirit of God meets the People of God, the church with the warm wel-

Answer: The Sabbath is the day the Israelites worshiped Jehovah (Old Testament). Saints Sunday is the Lords
Day, the first day of the week. Christians or disciples worship the resurrection on the Lords Day. (Gen. 2:2-3;
Deuteronomy 5:14-15; St. Matthew 28:5-6; St. Mark 16:2; St. Luke 24:1)

Answer: That money should be given freely. (St. Matthew 10:8; Romans 8:32)

Answer: Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of Faith, having our hearts and bodies washed with
pure water. (Hebrew 10:22)

13. Question: What is the advantage of worship?

Answer: You get close to God and you hear from God (Exodus 24:1-3).

14. Question: What standard should regulate our worship?

Answer: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in
truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in
spirit and in truth. (John 4:23-24)

 The Church Covenant
The church covenant is a voluntary agreement by members of the Baptist Church whereby they promise to conduct
their lives in such a way to glorify God and promote the ongoing of his church. Every member should study it carefully,
refer to it often, and seek to live by it. It clearly outlines the obligations of church membership. The form of coventant
in a wide use in Baptist Churches is as follows:
COVENANT
Having been led, as we believe, by the spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the pro-
fession of faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do in the
presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one
body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to stive for the advancement of
this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote the prosperity and spirituality; to sustain in worship, or-
dinance, discipline, and doctrines, to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses
of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of
our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectfuly in the world to be just in our dealings; faithful in our engage-
ments, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive agner; to abstain from the
sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our
Savoir.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remeber each other in prayer; to aid each other in
sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and the courtesy in speech; to be slow to take of-
fense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.
We moreover engage that wen we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church,
where we can carry out the spirit of our covenant and principles of Gods word.

The Vision for The Mount
The vision, as given by God, is that the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Miami, Inc., be a Bible-based church
where the Word of God is at our center and is the focus of our ministry. Also, that we exist for the purpose of God
and aid in the global plan of salvation. Our church will work on the local level to impact every life that we encouter
with the Messiahs message to effect change. We aim at winning souls for Jesus Christ and to produce kingdom
citizens through our witness. We must teach them to practice kingdom living through their walk in order that we may
promote a kingdom lifestyle through our words that we may all praise God, the King of the Kingdom, through our
worship.
This vision calls for us to be driven to position the church as the focal point of life. Therefore, our desire is to provide
a comprehensive ministry that is all encompassing. All that we need is found in Christ. Therefore, it is our belief that
all that you need should be found in the church (The Body of Christ and here at Mount Sinai). Ministries here at The
Mount serve to provide ministry to the membership as well as to our community. James wrote that Faith without
works is dead. Hence, members, of our congregation, coupled with their faith, fulfill the will of God by participating
in ministries that avails them to share the joy of the Lord. As Christ ministered holistically, so, too, is our aspiration
for ministry. Our ministry will be one that touches and teaches the young while tenderly caring for the not-so young.
Since we live in a diverse community, we will endeavor to provide a culturally diverse ministry.
As Christ was compassionate and heart-felt during His time here on earth, we, too, must set our sights on being
heart-felt and compassionate in every aspect of ministry. Our motto, The church with the warm welcome, shall truly
envelope the love that exists in our fellowship and we, the people, embody and exemplify this warmth. We will strive
to extend this warmth through Christian love. The apex of our ministry shall be hinged on the passion of Christ, how
he cared and gave. This motivates us, mobilizes us and manages us in ministry.
Theologian Karl Barth once stated, There is rather too much than too little said about the Church. There something
better: let us be the Church! As we work to foster our vertical relationship with Christ, through the aid of the Holy
Spirit, this will manifest through our horizontal relationship with mankind, in our continual effort to be the Church.
We do this in our vertical and horizontal relationships. It is our desire that the Church grows to understand that the
Church exists for the sake of the world, and that it is the light shining in the darkness.
