RESEARCH DESIGN

Rationale of the study

Technology has influenced and greatly simplified almost every aspect of a

persons life today. It is amazing what technology has done in our society and how

people became dependent on it. Technology is now used by people for much simpler,

easier and faster way to do things. Some used it as hobby and some used it as a job.

It is for these reasons that researchers would like to propose a Book Stock

Monitoring System in Inawayan Elementary School. Currently, the system used by

Inayawan Elementary School is done manually by the personnel. Consequently,

problems arise prompting the researchers to introduce the automation of the system to

facilitate the books.

The researchers focused their studies on Inayawan Elementary School. The

researchers chose Book Stock Monitoring System in order to enhance, develop and

manage the stocks that are being processed. A Book Stock Monitoring System is a

system that will help to monitor the distribution, returned, unreturned and damage books

also it will compute penalties for those unreturned books. The problems that Inayawan

Elementary School faced are time consuming on monitoring and doing reports, lost,

damage and inaccuracy of reports. The system would like to lessen time, keep track of

the records, automate reports, and to make accurate information of reports.

Related Literature

The Inayawan Elementary is a public School and is not yet developed by any

automated system that is like some other universities are using. The school still do

manual monitoring of the books that has been distributed to the teachers then to be used

by the students but upon making tracks of the records there has been difficulties and it

has been a major problem that they faced all the time. Monitoring and pulling up

information is time consuming, Doing reports and tracking or reports leads to inaccuracy

since there are no proper instruments has been used in storing data.

School monitoring systems and their impact on disparities the many steps taken

by Napoleon Bonaparte in his efforts to create a unified French nation, is the setting up

of a school supervision system. Indeed, the first French school inspectors, who were

also among the first official inspectors anywhere in the world, started working at the end

of the 18th century at the creation of the French public education system (Demailly et al.,

1998, p.15).

Monitoring and Reporting (M&R) Systems has been prepared in a format and

style suitable for inclusion in a planned Handbook on Monitoring, Reporting and

Evaluation in School Health Promotion and Social Development. The summary was

prepared by a writer guided group of international experts and then opened up for

commentary and on-line editing by members of an International Discussion Group and

visitors to this wiki-based web site. The core parts of this summary were closed with the

publication of this "first edition" in December, 2009, after three months of review.

However, anyone reviewing the summary continues to be welcome to make further their
comments and to add additional case studies. This summary is meant to be an "ever

green" document that is easily updated and changed.

Book Monitoring System with Real-Time Inventory Using RFID Technology

(2007)

Book monitoring in a library set-up is essential not only for library administrators but for

students and faculty as well. Library administrators need to close certain sections of their

libraries in order to perform inventory. For students and faculty, the task of locating

books in shelves is often disregarded. Searching books in the library can be hard when

books that are searched are misplaced or missing from their specified shelves.

Borrowing and returning functions of students can also be done without the need for

library supervision. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology used in a library

set-up provides solutions to these problems. By applying a program that incorporates the

RFID reader with high-frequency tags attached in books, the tasks of library personnel,

students and faculty in searching, monitoring and supervising books are supported and

made easier.

The Book Stock Monitoring System will be useful for the School Custodian of

Inayawan Elementary School to do the help lessen the time consumed on doing reports

and pulling up information. The system would also help to lessen the worry that the

information that has been recorded might be damaged or lost since data that has been

gathered on the processes of the system is stored into a database.

RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT

The research study is conducted or installed specifically at the Books Storage

Section or the Property Custodian of Inayawan Elementary School, a public school

established more than fifty years ago. At present, the school is composed of 111

teachers teaching and non-teaching with more than 6000 clienteles or pupils. The

Property Custodian himself caters several obligations concerning books for pupils:

receiving books from the Department of Education, recording the received books,

distribution of books to the teacher in-charge at the beginning of the school year, and

retrieving the books at the end of the school year.
