Suburban CHURCH DARTBALL LEAGUE

GENERAL RULES
2. Membership is limited to any male or female, single or married; regardless of denomination (age
minimum is 12 years, unless accompanied by an adult.).
3. The League officers consist of the following: President Bryan Schmidt, Vice-President Rudy Miller,
Secretary, Victoria Mallak and Treasurer John Ehleiter These officers and the team captains
constitute the governing body of the Church Dartball League.
4. The game follows the official Dartball rules for the State of Wisconsin with the following
modifications being made and accepted by mutual agreement of the local governing body.
5. A series of 3 games played each night. All ties will be played until broken or through 10 innings. In
the event of a tie 1 point will be awarded to each team. A overall win will be 2 points. All games
will be played on Monday nights beginning at 7:00 P.M (EXCEPTION: Postponed games may be
played at other times and/or on other days of the week). Both teams must agree to the time and
date.
6. A minimum of 7 players must be in a lineup in order for a team to man team. However a team
may play as many players as they desire as long as the minimum amount of players are in the
lineup. It is highly encouraged however not mandatory to loan a team that is short players if the
other team has a surplus of players available that night. If the team missing players cannot man a
team of at least 7 players than they may have to forfeit the first game after the 15 min grace
period has expired. If the team without a minimal of 7players can still not man a team after
30min from the starting time, that team will have to forfeit the other two games. Missing players
(outs) may appear anywhere in the lineup the captain desires. If a missing player arrives, he can
fill the position of any out the captain desires.
7. If a team playing 9 or more players has a team member leave they will have to play an auto out
for that spot in the lineup. A team may not bat a player twice under the 215.00 rule or fewer
once the game has begun. This rule directly applies to a team playing 9 or more batters in a
lineup. The standard lineup is 9.
8. If a game has started and all players have shot at least once, any late arrivals on that team will be
added to the bottom of the lineup for that game. This
9. However if a player has to leave during the game and the team losing the player has another
member of their team arrive late then that player can be substituted for the position of the
player that had to leave the game. This rule only applies to teams that are batting 9 or less in the
lineup.
10. If a batter takes his or her place at bat and throws a dart and then it is drawn to the opposing
captains attention that he is out of turn, the skipped batter is out and the proper order is
resumed.
11. Also a captain has the right to bat two players on their lineup twice, as long as they meet the
following requirements:
12. This exception is only warranted if a team has at least 7 players at the begging of the game.
13. The player must have an average under 215.00
14. If there are no players fewer than 215.00 present than the captain of that team must play an
auto out.
15. In the event of a tie in any division after the regular season ends the tie will be broken based on
the teams win/loss record (against each other). If the teams have the same win/loss record , the
tie will be broken based on total runs than total hits.
16. The Host team will always bat first.
17. FOUL-LINE: A batter that steps over the line in the act of shooting gets called on it by the 1st
chair of the opposing team has a right to issue a warning to that shooter. If that shooter steps
over the line again the 1st chair of the opposing team has the right to call that batter out. Note
that after the same person has been warned the next time that entire evening will be called out if
this occurs again.

After taking his position in the batting area, any dart which drops in front of the foul line, the batter
will be allowed to pick up the dart and receive another shooting opportunity.

However if the batter is in the act of shooting when he or she drops the dart over the shooting line
the batter will be called out, as long as the shooters arm is going forward.

18. Warm-up shots are taken before the start of the first game. This is the only practice time that is
allowed.

Any thrown dart not hitting the playing field will be called an out. Any dart that skims the board
during flight is also considered an out. An example a player shoots a dart and the dart chips the
board during flight and the dart is considered an off the board shot. If a dart hits another dart on the
board and the dart thrown misses the board the dart thrown will be called an out.

The moonshot rule will be reinstated however the new rule reads as follows:

A dart that hits the celling during flight and sticks on the board will be called based on what it hits on
the playing board. However any dart that hits anything other than the celling will be called out
regardless if it hits the board or not. This new rule can be seen in section 18 in the league dartball
rules.

DEADDART: Any thrown dart that hits any part of the playing field or a wire, and drops off, will be
considered a dead dart and will not count. A dart that hits another dart on the board and sticks will
be considered a dead dart. The umpires will make the decision as to where the dart hit. The umpires
must agree on the outcome of the play. If the umpires cannot come to a conclusion then the
decision will be made between the two Captains of each team only.

19. Also a captain has the right to bat two players on their lineup twice, as long as they meet the
following requirements:
20. This exception is only warranted if a team has at least 7 players at the begging of the game.

The player must have an average under 215.00

If there are no players fewer than 215.00 present than the captain of that team must play an auto
out.
