This project aims to prepare and characterize magnesium oxide nanoparticles using a sol gel synthesis method. The objectives are to optimize the hydrolysis conditions to prepare the nanoparticles, characterize their size and shape, use the magnesium oxide nanoparticles as fillers in polymer composites prepared through melt mixing, and study the crystallization behavior of the resulting magnesium oxide filled polymer composites.

1) Prepare Magnesium Oxide of nanoparticle by Sol Gel Synthesis.
2) Optimize the hydrolysis conditions of preparing nanoparticle. 3) Characterize the Magnesium Oxide nanoparticle for their size (aspect ratio) and shape. 4) Use Mgo as model filler to study the dispersion behavior of Polymeric Composites by conventional melt mixing. 5) To prepare nanocomposites using Magnesium Oxide nanoparticle as fillers in Polymeric material. 6) To study the non-isotheirnal crystallization behavior of Mgo filled composites.
