Enablement

First steps and preparations before you can make productive use of SAP IoT Application Enablement

Introduction

The SAP Internet of Things (IoT) Application Enablement services is a collection of microservices, apps, and UI
templates that enables you to build IoT application. It helps to set up a thing model, along with companies and
service personnel in a company and their relationships. The solution is available on SAP Cloud Platform (SCP)
Cloud Foundry (CF), and it falls into the category of a "platform as a service" (PaaS). You can use the solution to
build IoT applications, which collect and transform the massive live data from sensor-equipped "things" into new
values for business outcomes.

Target Audience

This guide is intended for users of SAP IoT Application Enablement, especially for persons who are responsible for
system administrative tasks at the customer site. Typical examples of persons or groups that belong to the target
group are:

SAP consultants
implementation partners
application developers
system administrators

Although SAP IoT Application Enablement is positioned as a hosted solution (PaaS), there is still a number of
tasks to be done, which require technical knowledge and deeper insight into the technical infrastructure than can
be expected from a typical end user.
