1. Define Finite Element Analysis.
2. What are the methods are generally associated with the FEA.
3. Why polynomial type of interpolation function are mostly used in FEM.
4. Explain the principle used and procedure followed in the galerkin method.
5. List out the advantages of FEM.
Part B (1x8=08)
1. 3x+y-z=3,2x-8y+z=-5,x-2y+9z=8 solve this equation using Gauss Elimination
Method.

Part C (Any two) (2x15=30)


1. Explain the step by step procedure of solving FEA Problem with an example.
2. Using Rayleigh Ritz method determine the expression for deflection and bending
moments in a simply supported beam subjected to uniform distributed load over
entire span.Find the deflection and moment at mid span and compare to exact
solutions.
