In 2008, I was invited by Sister Gail to go to an encounter weekend, and since at that

time I was just discharged from the hospital due to an illness, at the back of my mind I did not
hesitate because this is my way of showing appreciation to God for healing me. When I went to
the womens encounter, I was able to experience a lot of things such as talking about God,
taught me how to do daily devotion and praying for each other. Even though I came to know
these things, I did not change my ways. I would still continue to do my old routine by being
contented in doing good works to others

After sometime, my family and I encountered another trial. My husband was diagnosed
with an illness. It was hard for us because even the doctors do not know what my husbands
illness was unless he would undergo biopsy to determine whether the lump that has grown in
his lungs was malignant or not. Hearing those words, my family and I dont even know what to
do. We just prayed and hoped that my husband will be ok. Our friend, Ampy and Gail/ Ibassco
Family, was concerned for us so they asked me if they could bring members of GCM to pray for
my husband. I consulted my husband if he was willing to be prayed for. Miraculously, he
accepted it and did not hesitate. I remember that brother Val, Sister Evelyn and Sister Gloria
came to pray for him. They told us about the word of God, that is when we truly accepted the
Lord, Jesus Christ. After we had accepted Jesus Christ, we felt the presence of the Holy Spirit
because when we consulted again with the doctor, miraculously the lump on his lung did not
grow. From that time on, we had decided to have a bible study every Thursday. Brother Val was
always pursuing us in attending church every Sunday at GCM. It took him years to convince us
to go to church. Its hard for us to let go of our past beliefs and traditions because we are
accustomed and contented of what we believe in. But one day my son Oliver urged my family
to go to church because he told us to try and attend Sunday worship service because we wont
be losing anything if we attended, so my family and I talked about it and together we made our
decision to attend. from then on we felt the presence of God moving into our lives and we
became regular attendees of the 7am worship and eventually became members of GCM on
March 17 2013. After we started to become members of GCM, I joined the mom to mom group
every Friday. At times we still encounter problems but we handle it differently from before. If
we have problems we always consult God first as a family. I would like to end with a verse:
Isaiah 43:2 When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers
of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be
burned up; the flames will not consume you. I know God still has many things to change in our
lives but we are happy and willing to embrace His will in our lives.
