Integrated Services Digital Network
(ISDN)
ISDN : sistem jar telepon circuit-switched
dirancang agar memungkinkan transmisi digital
suara dan data melalui kabel telepon tembaga shg
kualitas yg lebih baik dan kecepatan lebih tinggi
drpd yg disediakan oleh sistem PSTN.
Integrated Services kemampuan ISDN
menyalurkan minimal dua sambungan dr kombinasi
data, voice, video, dan fax, melalui sal tunggal.
Digital transmisi digital murni.
Network kenyataan bhw ISDN tidak
sesederhana solusi point-to-point spt leased line.

Sejarah ISDN

1960 an, terjadi perubahan sistem teleponi menjadi


berbasis paket dengan sentral digital, sementara saluran
akses masih analog.
1984 : ITU-T (CCITT) Recommendation I.120, pabrikan
sentral menerapkan rekomendasi secara berbeda shg
tdk beroperasi.
1990 an : pabrikan di AS membuat standard ISDN
nasional 1 (NI-1), tetapi negara barat lain tdk
mengimplementasikan krn tidak kompatibel dgn jar ISDN
nya.
Standard ISDN nasional 2 (NI-2) lebih komprehensif dan
yang digunakan saat ini.

Konfigurasi

Terdiri dr 2 kanal :
B (Bearer) utk data termasuk suara
D (Delta) utk signaling dan control (ttp juga dpt digunakan utk data).
Basic Rate Interface (BRI) atau Basic rate access (BRA) terdiri :
2 kanal B dgn lebar pita masing2 64 kbit/s
1 kanal D dgn lebar pita 16 kbit/s.
Ke tiga kanal tsb dpt dirancang menjadi 2B+D.

Primary Rate Interface (PRI) atau Primary rate access (PRA)
terdiri :
Kanal B lebih banyak
Kanal D dgn lebar pita 64 kbit/s.
Jumlah kanal B bervariasi bergantung negara :
Amerika utara Jepang 23B+1D, bit rate of 1.544 Mbit/s (T1)
Eropa, India, Australia, Indonesia 30B+2D, bit rate 2.048 Mbit/s
(E1).

User Network Interface
Network Termination (NT).
Merupakan perangkat terminating dari network, menangani
fungsi-fungsi Layer 1 dan Layer 2 OSI.
NT bisa berupa Modem atau perangkat PBX.
Terminal Equipment 1 (TE1).
Perangkat terminal ISDN yang tersambung ke network ISDN
melalui interface S/T. Contoh : Telepon digital, Fax G4,
Videophone dll.
Terminal Equipment 2 (TE2).
Perangkat terminal non-ISDN yang tersambung ke network ISDN
melalui Terminal Adaptor. Contoh : PC, FAX analog (G3),
Telepon analog

User Network Interface
Terminal Adapter (TA).
Perangkat interface terminal non-ISDN, agar TE2 bisa
mengakses ke ISDN.
U-Interface.
2-W subscriber line
S/T-Interface.
4-wire physical interface, untuk koneksi antara NT
dengan TE1 atau NT dengan TA.
R-Interface.

Number Identification Supplementary Service


Direct Dialing In (DDI) :
Pengguna dpt langsung berkomunikasi dg pengguna lain dalam suatu PABX
ISDN atau sistem jaringan pribadi tanpa melalui operator PABX.
Multiple Subscriber Number (MSN) :
Adanya beberapa nomer ISDN (multiple) pada sambungan plg BRA, max 8 nomer
tlp yang berbeda.
Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLIP) :
Menampilkan nomor tlp pemanggil pada terminal ISDN yang dipanggil.
Calling Line Identification Restriction (CLIR) :
Mencegah ditampilkannya nomer telepon ISDN pemanggil pada
terminal ISDN yang dipanggil

COnnected Line identification Presentation (COLP):
Menampilkan nomer tlp ISDN dari terminal yg terhubung pada terminal
ISDN pemanggil.
COnnected Line identification Restriction (COLR):
Mencegah ditampilkannya nomer tlp ISDN dr terminal yang terhubung
pada terminal ISDN pemanggil.
Malicious Call Identification (MCI) :
Pelayanan yg memungkinkan seorang plg utk meminta identifikasi
panggilan yang diterimanya.
Sub-addressing (SUB) :
Memungkinkan plg SUB utk memperluas kapasitas penomoran pd
satu nomor ISDN yang diberikan oleh operator.

Call offering Supplementary Service
Call Transfer (CT)
Memungkinkan pengguna utk memindahkan panggilan yg datang atau
pemanggilan ke arah luar atau panggilan konferensi tertentu ke fihak
ketiga.panggilan yg dipindahkan harus sdh tertentu hubungan ujung ke
ujungnya sebelum pemanggilan tersebut dipindahkan.
Call Forwarding Busy (CFB) :
Pelayanan yg memungkinkan plg yg tak dapat menjawab panggilan krn
sibuk utk mengalihkan panggilan tsb ke answering service, nomer plg lain
yang ditunjuk, announcement.
Call Forwarding No Reply (CFNR) :
Pelayanan yg memungkinkan plg bila tak mau menjawab panggilan akan
dialihkan panggilan tsb ke answering service, nomer pelanggan lain yang
ditunjuk, announcement
Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU):
Pelayanan yg memungkinkan plg yg tak mau menjawab panggilan tanpa
suatu syarat utk mengalihkan panggilan tsb ke answering service, nomor
pelanggan lain yang ditunjuk, announcement

Multiple Access Line Hunting (MA/LH):


Seleksi otomatis suatu saluran bebas dr suatu bundel saluran yg
melayani plg atau penerimaan suatu panggilan ke nomor direktori
umum plg tersebut
Call completion Supplementary Service
Call Waiting (CW) :
Memungkinkan plg utk mengidentifikasi panggilan masuk lainnya
pada saat sedang melakukan komunikasi.
Call Hold (CH)
Suatu hubungan dapat digenggam ( tanpa pemutusan hubungan). ini
artinya panggilan yang lain dapat dijawab atau set-up.setelah selesai
panggilan yg digenggam dapat dilanjutkan.

Advice of Charge Set-up (AoC-S)
Selama hubungan terjadi jaringan ISDN dapat menyediakan informasi
tentang biaya-biaya menyangkut hubungan tersebut saat sedang
terjadi pembangunan hubungan.

Advice of Charge During (AoC-D)


Selama hubungan terjadi jaringan ISDN dapat menyediakan informasi
tentang biaya-biaya menyangkut hubungan tersebut saat sedang
berlangsung hubungan tersebut.

Advice of Charge End (AoC-E)


Selama hubungan terjadi jaringan ISDN dapat menyediakan informasi
tentang biaya-biaya menyangkut hubungan tersebut saat hubungan
baru selesai dilakukan.

User to User Signaling (UUS) :
Memungkinkan pengguna ISDN utk mengirim/menerima
informasi dalam jumlah terbatas ke/dari pengguna ISDN lain

Call Control Access Function Provides the means for user to access the CCF; handles call setup, Service Switching Point (SSP),
(CCAF) termination, hold-on etc... can also provide user with CLASS Network Access Point (NAP)
(Custom Local Area Signalling Services) properties
Call Control Function (CCF) Provides the means for establishing and controlling bearer services Service Switching Point (SSP)
on behalf network users; the CCF refers to call and connection
handling in classical sense

Service Switching Function Provides the means to recognise calls requiring IN service Service Switching Point (SSP)
