ABSTRAK
Gizi merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang menentukan tingkat kesehatan dan
keserasian antara perkembangan fisik dan mental. Penilaian gizi seseorang lebih dikenal
dengan status gizi. Keberhasilan suatu bangsa dalam membangun sumber daya manusia
dipengaruhi oleh status gizi masyarakatnya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi status
gizi seseorang adalah pengetahuan individu tersebut tentang gizi.
Jenis penelitian ini bersifat analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Populasi
dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas VII MTs. Al-Bashriyah Sukabumi Jawa
Barat tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purpose sampling
dengan jumlah 106 siswa. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner, pengukuran berat badan dan
tinggi badan. Hasil pengumpulan data diolah dengan menggunakan uji Statistik spearman
rank dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa P-value 0,001.
Hasil analisa Spearmans rho menunjukan bahwa correlations menunjukkan 0,305 yang
artinya terdapat korelasi antara variabel, akan tetapi dengan nilai korelasi lemah dengan
nilai ukur 0,30-0,50.

ABSTRACT
Nutrition is one important factor that determines the level of health and harmony
between the physical and mental development. Assessment of nutritional someone more
familiar with nutritional status. The success of a nation in building the human resource
community is influenced by nutritional status. One of the factors that influence the
nutritional status of a person is the individual's knowledge about nutrition.
This research type is analytical with Cross Sectional approach. The population in
this study were students of class VII MTs. Al-Bashriyah Sukabumi West Java academic
year 2016/2017. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique with 106
students. Data were obtained through questionnaires, measurements of body weight and
height. Result of data settlement is processed by using spearman rank statistic test with
level of signifikansi 0,05. The results showed the value of P-value 0.001. Spearman's rho
analysis shows that the correlations show 0.305 which means there is a correlation
between variables, but with a weak correlation value with a value of 0.30-0.50.
Most of the respondents had less knowledge about nutrition (68.9%) and
abnormal nutritional status is thin (24.5%) and overweight (26.4%). Based on the results
of research conducted there is an effort from the school to perform health monitoring,
especially nutritional status on a regular basis in students.
