To Whom It May Concern

I, Ammad Hassan S/O Liaqat Ali, citizen of Pakistan, wish to migrate to Australia. I am seeking
Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa from the Northern Territory (abbreviated as NT).

Being a Professional Mechanical Engineer, I am more concerned about the economy, industry,
growth rate and employment opportunities for the engineers in a country. Australia has the
beautiful combination of Agro-Industrial economy (one of the few in the world). The major
similarity of Australia and Pakistan is their four seasons. Climate is a vital factor for me to
relocate and Ill adjust with Australian climate without much hassles. Vibrant culture and
diverse tolerant society that absorbs immigrants without racial discrimination are blooming
lights. I am fond of trekking, hiking, excursions and other activities of this kind. Australia also
have excellent geographical and tropical views and out class flora and fauna. So, it would be an
excellent work life balance for me while working there.

Everyone in the world strives for Quality education, health and unbiased justice in the world
and Australia has all these including the effective taxation and welfare system. Combination of
the above factors built a stable economy and a prosperous society. In my opinion, Australia is
one of the most attractive countries for the quality of life.

After internet surfing and studying other sources to compare different regions, I intended to
live in Northern Territory of Australia. I am confident on my capabilities, talent and knowledge
to live in NT as I have been living an expat life for more than three years and would comfortably
settle there. I would like to support my point of view to migrate to Australia and specifically
selecting my final destination to NT with the following logical reasons:-
The Northern Territory is a federal Australian territory in the centre and central northern
regions. It shares borders with Western Australia to the west, South Australia to the south,
Queensland to the east, the territory is bordered by the Timor Sea, the Arafura Sea and the Gulf
of Carpentaria. Despite its large area over 520,902 square miles, making it the third largest
Australian federal division. It is sparsely populated with a population of Approx. 233,300. The
largest number of NTs population lives in the top end region in the capital city of Darwin and
satellite city of Palmerston and surrounds. The Central Region including Alice Springs, Ayers
Rock and Issemi-arid is the second most populated area. The remainder lives in Katherine,
Tennant Creek in the Barkly Region, the coastal town of Nhulunbuy or in the hundreds of other
small remote communities throughout the Northern Territory.

The northern end including Darwin has a tropical climate with high humidity and two seasons,
the wet (October to April) and dry season (May to September). During the dry season nearly
every day is warm and sunny, and afternoon humidity averages around 30%. There is very little
rainfall between May and September. In the coolest months of June and July, the daily
minimum temperature may dip as low as 14 C but very rarely lower and frost has never been
recorded. I am used to the tropical climate as I spent 4 years in Karachi (tropical city of

1
Pakistan) and since last 3 years I have been living in Qatar, which is a located on the shores of
Arabian Gulf.
The Northern Territory is a multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multicultural society. Religious
freedom and mutual respect for different religions is an integral part of NTs shared culture.
There are Islamic mosques, Buddhist and Chinese temples and a host of Christian churches
offering religious instructions and worships.
Art exhibitions, theatres, festivals and other live performances are the ways of cultural
reflection. One of the prime specialties of these events are their vision of bringing the local
community together, without any social differences. The three richest experience pillars for the
region are

Nature
Heritage and History
Food & Wine
Some of the big festivals and events are worth mentioning like the annual Darwin Festival, and
Alice Springs Heritage Festival and Beanie Festivals. Indigenous art from Arnhem Land to
Central Australia is a flourishing industry and provides cultural connection and understanding
between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

Australia is one of the prime destinations for most of the migrants because of its high quality of
health and personal care services. These services are available for everyone regardless of age,
ethnicity and income level throughout the NT through public and private general practices,
clinics and hospitals. Royal Darwin Hospital and Alice Springs hospitals are the NTs main
medical hospitals offering a wide range of specialist services and both are teaching hospitals
aligned with Flinders University in Adelaide through the NT Clinical School. All major regional
towns have hospitals offering general inpatient, outpatient and emergency services.
Housing in the NT is almost similar to Pakistani housing style. In the tropical top end, elevated
houses with louvered windows and ceiling fans are the traditional housing style, enabling
airflow and breezes relieving residents from the tropical weather. Also typical are large outdoor
living areas with verandahs and decking and the essential swimming pool in most backyards.

NT offers high Quality education to local and international students. The NT's education system
provides a variety of choices in public and private schooling with options from preschool to
tertiary level. A range of tertiary and vocational education and training courses are also
available throughout the NT, at facilities such as Charles Darwin University, Yirara College and
the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education. In addition to these institutions, there
are numerous private training organizations registered in the NT.

NT has the wide range of industries including the oil and gas, mining and defence sectors. The Commented [T1]: The entire yellow part is copy pasted
economy is further supported by construction, agriculture, fishing, tourism, and public
administration. Darwin is strategically placed as Australias closest capital to Asia and is
2
developing this strategic position for shipping, regional freight and as a distribution gateway.
Being a professional Mechanical Engineer with experience in construction sector, chances of
getting employment are more as compared to the other states as Darwin is a fast growing city
and this is expected to continue with population growth driven by economic expansion from
new oil and gas projects, mining exports, airports and rail upgrades to cope with increased
passenger loads, defence and port development. I am confident in this regard, relocation and
settling will not be a problem for me and I would enjoy this change in such a diverse
geographical region.
One of the prime reasons for choosing NT is the stable law and order situation, personal
security and decreasing crime rates. NT police statistics report has increased my confidence
level to select NT as crimes are decreasing every year due to the proactive approach of NT
police.

The Northern Territory has the lowest unemployment rate in Australia following the release of
the July labour force figures. The Territorys trend unemployment rate is now the lowest in
Australia after it dipped by 0.1 per cent to 4.2 per cent. The Australian Capital Territory
previously had the lowest rate, but its figure has increased to 4.4 per cent. Commented [T2]: Copy pasted again

In the conclusion it can be stated confidently that NT is offering pleasant living features those
which are unique and unavailable in most other parts of the world. So I am undoubtedly stating
that NT is the kind of a place where I wanted to live since long and after all researches I fell in
love of this beautiful place and want to live here permanently.
Main research resource about NT is internet. I have tried to collect most information from the
Australian officially published booklets or from the official websites. I also tried to get the views
of the people living in NT through social media and blogs. And going through all the process, I
came to conclusion. I am providing below the reference of websites, the information of which
helped me to come up with a decision to make NT as my migration destination.
