-Anand Mahindra (born 1 May 1955) is the chairman and managing director
of Mahindra Group.[5][6][7] His grandfather JC Mahindra co-founded the company
in Mumbai, India. Founded as a steel trading company, the Group today has a
presence in multiple sectors from agribusiness to aerospace. It is considered to
be one of the most reputed Indian industrial houses with market leadership in
many business verticals including utility vehicles, tractors (world's largest
tractor company by volume), after market (India's largest multi-brand pre-

largest vacation ownership company) and IT (top 5 IT service provider).
Hailed as 'The Federator' by Forbes (India) Magazine,[10] Anand Mahindra started his career
at Mahindra Group with Mahindra Ugine Steel Company Ltd.[11] as Executive Assistant to the
Finance Director and in 1989, was appointed President and Deputy managing director of that
company. During his stint at MUSCO, he initiated the Mahindra Group's diversification into
the new business areas of real estate development and hospitality management and in August
2012, took over as chairman and managing director of the Mahindra Group from his

Keshub Mahindra (9 October 1923) is an Indian businessman, and the chairman emeritus of
the Mahindra Group. He retired as chairman in August 2012 after heading the Group for
nearly five decades, handing over the position to his nephew, Anand Mahindra.[1]Mahindra is
known for his philanthropy.He is a graduate from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, US.
He joined Mahindra & Mahindra in 1947, and in 1963 took over as chairman.
Dr Pawan Goenka is the Managing Director[1] of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, an Indian
multinational automobile manufacturing corporation headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra,
India and the Chairman of SsangYong Motor Company in Korea. Dr Pawan Goenka did his
schooling in Kolkata, India and then earned his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering
from I.I.T. Kanpur and Ph.D. from Cornell University, U.S.A. He is also a Graduate of
Advanced Management Program from HBS. He worked at General Motors R&D Centre in
Detroit, U.S.A. from 1979 to 1993. Thereafter he joined Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., as

Developers Ltd is an MBA from BIM, India and a Wharton AMP alumnus, Anita has

joined the Mahindra Group in 2002 as Vice President - Marketing in one of the subsidiary
companies of Mahindra Lifespaces, Mahindra World City, Indias first integrated business
city in a public-private partnership. In 2006, Anita took over profit center responsibility

Our state-of-the-art R&D facility, the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, validates our

world-class automotive products like xUV500, TUV300, KUV100 and the technology-packed
Arjun NOVO & Mahindra YUVO tractors. MRV helps deliver a competitive edge through synergies
in technology development, indigenous design, shortened product development cycles and enhanced
people capabilities.

We, at Mahindra, aim to provide accessible technology to our customers and our recent launches
of KUV100, TUV300, Blazo trucks and Mahindra YUVO tractors are testaments to that fact.

1. In KUV100, we have provided safety features like ABS and EBD at an entry level price point.
Dual airbags are optional from the base variant and ISOFIx mounts for a child seat on the rear
seat. The KUV100 also offers first-in-class option of Power/ECO Mode and Micro-Hybrid
Technology in the diesel variant. Other features include Driver Information System, Steering-
mounted audio & phone controls and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
Our new range of Mahindra Blazo trucks feature Fuel Smart technology that significantly
enhance fuel efficiency. Its Multimodetechnology offers three drive modes - Turbo, Heavy and
Light, based on load and road conditions, thus optimising fuel efficiency.

2. The technology-packed Mahindra YUVO delivers more coverage, faster operations and
better quality of work. The YUVO range offers many best-in-class and category first features
like 12F+3R gears, 1500 kg lift capacity, precision hydraulics and high engine power (best-in-
class max torque). Designed for over 30 different farming applications, the YUVO supports
farmers with land preparation to harvesting as well as post-harvesting operations.
3. With the recently launched TRRINGO digital platform, we have entered into the farm equipment
rental services, using new age technology and digitisation. Through TRRINGO, our endeavour
is to make tractors and implements more accessible to the small and marginal farmers.
4. Mahindra became one of the first large corporate groups in the country to initiate a digital
mobility platform with the launch of SmartShift - a technology-enabled, intra-city load exchange
platform. SmartShift acts as an exchange platform for cargo owners and transporters.

Mr. Keshub Mahindra, Chairman Emeritus of the Company was honoured with the Lifetime
Achievement Award from ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry
of India), in recognition of his stellar contribution to the Indian industry over the past five
decades.
1. Mahindra Group Chairman, Mr. Anand Mahindra featured among Top 30 Global CEOs
in the prestigious Barrons 2016 List. Mr. Mahindra was one of four international
leaders to join the list in 2016.
2. The Company received the AON Hewitt Award for Top 10 GlobalCompanies for Leaders.
The study evaluates and recogniseswhat it takes to execute best-in-class leadership and
talent management around the world.
4 The Company bagged the Technology Innovation of the Year award at IATIA 2015 for
its smartphone based Mahindra Blue Sense App which provides functionalities like E-
Call, Green Drive, Navigation, Connectivity and Telematics solutions at no additional
cost.
5. The Company was awarded the coveted Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in
Corporate Governanc by the Institute of Directors as well as the National Award for
Excellence in Corporate Governance by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
6. The Company was awarded the third prize in the category of Top 3 Institutions for
R&D in Renewable Energy by the Ministry of Non-conventional and Renewable Energy

CSR initiatives
Some of the major CSR initiatives the Company has invested in during 2011-2012 are described below:
A. Nanhi Kali
Bearing in mind the millennium development goals, the Mahindra Group has been supporting the cause
of Girl Child education for many years through investing in Nanhi Kali, a project that supports the
education of underprivileged girl children. During the last financial year, 74,383 girls across 9 states in
India were provided academic and material support, of which, the Mahindra Group supports the education
of 27,887 Nanhi Kalis. Significant outcomes include curtailing drop out of girls from school to less than
10% and a 20% increase in learning outcomes across all project areas.
B. Mahindra Pride Schools
Your Company continues to support the Government mandate for affirmative action by providing
youth from socially disadvantaged sections of Society with livelihood training through the Mahindra
Pride Schools. 3,830 students from socially disadvantaged sections of Society have been provided
training at the 3 Mahindra Pride Schools in Pune, Chennai and Patna. The students are being trained in
three areas of Hospitality, Craft, Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES - for BPOs and
KPOs) and Customer Relationship Management. The highlight of the placement process has been 100%
placement of students in lucrative jobs.

C. Scholarships and Grants


Your Company established various scholarships which have helped
transform the lives of youth. These scholarships range from rewarding
excellence in academics in 35 schools to providing vocational scholarship to
students from disadvantaged sections of Society, to providing interest free loan
scholarship to students who wish to pursue post graduate studies overseas.
During the performance. The triple bottom line performance for 2010-11 was
published in accordance with the latest guidelines of the internationally accepted
Global Reporting Initiative or the GRI standards. As in case of the previous three
Reports, this Report was also externally assured by Ernst & Young with an A+
rating and GRI checked.

(A) Technology Absorption


(i) The efforts made towards technology absorption:
Your Company is committed towards technology driven innovation and lays strong emphasis
on inculcating an innovation driven culture within the organisation.
During the year under review, your Company continued to work on technology upgradation
and capability development in the critical areas of Powertrain, Gasoline engines, Emission,
Safety, Weight reduction, Alternate fuels, Automotive electronics and Connected car.
Specifically on the tractor front, efforts are being put to develop electronic systems and features
to provide enhanced productivity and comfort to the farmers. These technology focus areas are
important to be competitive in the market today and in the times to come.
Your Company has made sustained investment in developing technology and acquiring
patents. Over the years, your Company has strengthened its IPR portfolio and in Financial
Year 2016, your Company filed a total of 173 patents.

revenue for the Financial Year 2007-08 to Financial Year 2015-16:
For the year under review, your Company bagged three prestigious National IP Awards on World
Intellectual Property Day under the categories of Best Commercialisation of Patents, WIPO
(World Intellectual Property Organization) Users Trophy and Top organization for Trademarks.
These awards were conferred by the DIPP Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion,
Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India
