T test,ANOVA and chi square are examples of parametric tests.

In using a parametrics in general we it

can perform well when the spread of each group is different and it is more reliable compare to non
parametric tests.

Lets start with T test, a t-test with two samples is commonly used with small sample sizes. There are a
least 3 types of t test to use for different purpose.

One is One sample t-test, you can use this whether the mean of a variable is less than, greater than, or
equal to a specific value. Usually, the known value is a population mean.

Null: There is no significant difference between the sample mean and the population mean.

Alternate: There is a significant difference between the sample mean and the population mean.

Another one is Paired sample t-test. It tests whether the difference between the two variables is
significantly different from zero or not and the population should be equal.

Null: There is no significant difference between the means of the two variables.

Alternate: There is a significant difference between the means of the two variables.

Last is the Independent Samples t-test. This kind of T- test compares the mean difference between two
independent groups on a given variable

Null: The means of the two groups are not significantly different.

Alternate: The means of the two groups are significantly different.

Next is the ANOVA. It is a statistical method used to test differences between two or more means. It
may seem odd that the technique is called "Analysis of Variance" rather than "Analysis of Means." As
you will see, the name is appropriate because inferences about means are made by analyzing variance.
So there are atleast 2 types of Anova

One type is the One-Way ANOVA. This test compares the mean of k groups based on one independent
variable.

Null: There are no significant differences between the groups' mean scores.

Alternate: There is a significant difference between the groups' mean scores.

And the other type is Two-way ANOVA it which you can use it to determines how a response is affected
by two factors.

The null hypothesis is that there is no interaction between columns (data sets) and rows. More
precisely, the null hypothesis states that any systematic differences between columns are the same for
each row and that any systematic differences between rows are the same for each column.

Lastly the Chi Square, this test is commonly used for testing relationships on categorical variables, and is
most commonly used to evaluate tests of independence. There are atleast 2 types of Chi square.

One is the Chi square Goodness of Fit it which it is use to Determines if the observed frequencies are
different from what we would expect to find.

Null: There are approximately equal numbers of cases in each group

Alternate: There are not equal numbers of cases in each group

The second one is the Chi Square Test of Independence in which it is use to determine the association
between 2 categorical variables.

Null: There is no association between the two variables.

Alternate: There is an association between the two variables.
