GENERAL CONCEPT
This seventh edition of the Human rights-project will deal with angriness (as a positive force) and
commitment. The two central questions are:
(1) What social injustice and wrongs in your area - where Human Rights are being violated - are you
angry about?
(2) What are you going to do about this? How do you want to change/correct this social injustice?
Both questions can be easily linked with human rights in the two articles the students have to write.

Activities and composition of the article.

Each group writes only one article

1.Intro & Action plan. Deadline 15th of October. Part one of the article.

a.Presentation of the group members
The team members are going to present themselvelves using a written presentation or a video
presentation.
For privacy reasons, mention only your first name (not family name), age, hobbies and your ambitions
for the future. No privacy details about your family, no emailaddresses. Pictures: one group picture is
mandatory. Individual pictures. Be aware that you publish pictures on internet. In video presentation:
please speak slowly and clearly and the duration of the video is restricted to max. 2 minutes Video on
You Tube; Start always with Eumind in the title.

b. Action plan.
Who will do what and when? Describe clearly the division of specific tasks (group leader, video,
pictures, editor etc..)
Describe in a detailed way the research tasks of each group member and make sure the tasks are
divided equally. Interviews, questionnaires etc.

2. Our research and creative report. Deadline end of December 2017. Part two of the article.

It is important to note that angriness and indignation (as mentioned in the general concept-chapter
above) are seen here as positive forces. No angriness and indignation for its own sake, but as a drive
to change things positively.

a. Explain why you have chosen this social wrong.

-Report shortly on the discussion in the team about the choice of the topic. Five lines
-Mention sources that have drawn the attention of the group: newspaper, TV, eye-witnesses, talks

-(add pictures, scanned texts etc....)
b. Our research
-Explain clearly the injustice/abuse and why this demonstrates a violation of human rights.
-Clearly explain which human right(s) has/have been violated.
-Give evidence: facts, opinions in newspapers, literature etc.
-Which Human Rights have been violated? Why.
-Show evidence that this abuse occurs in your area.
-Draw a conclusion.
-Optional but highly recommended: Interview one or two persons victim of the injustice/abuse,
expert (academic, civil servant, volunteer NGO)
c. Our creative way to draw attention
The students can use one of the following means:
-Photographic story.
-Poem.
-Comic /animation /drawing.
-Presentation of texts, films that already exist (with comment on the text/film).
-2 or 3 minute-documentation or short movie to be put on the internet.

Action-time! What do young people want to do against this injustice?

Each group undertakes action against this injustice. Be creative and inventive. Your action should not
be deadly serious. Creating awareness, a charity-action, a funny intervention are actions as well.
Joint projects (India-Europe) are also possible. And always keep in mind that this is a human rights-
project.
Each group composes a report of this action. Again: be creative in making this article. Dont forget to
use (audio)visual material.

4.Conclusion/Comparison + Action-time. Deadline 31 January 2018. Part three of the article.

a. Comparison. Compare your outcomes with the research results of two other groups from
Indian/EU and answer the question What are the main similarities and differences on the subtopic
b. Reflection. What went well?/What would you do differently?

Communication between the groups.

We encourage that students share their ideas and opinions with peers in India/Europe/Reunion using
social media.

Make use of the many features that Weebly provides!
Illustrate your report with pictures. Use the caption to give basic information about the picture.
You tube movies. Give the video the tag Eumind. Embed the You tube movies. See Eumind demo site.
Presentations/research outcomes on Powerpoint. Upload them on Slideshare
(http://www.slideshare.net). Give the Powerpoint the tag Eumind. Embedded in Weebly
If you are using slides in a Power Point, make sure the text is readable (dont use back ground colours)
Important: before you publish on Weebly, you have to collect all the materials: photos, text, maybe
video.

Other activities:
(1) Bilateral Video-conferences (involving two schools) will be held from the end of October on. Each
school should take part in at least one VC.
(2) If there are enough good texts, it might be possible that they will be gathered in a printed
anthology.

Comparison 10 p Compare your outcomes with the research results of two other groups from
Indian/EU. Indicate clearly which group and school.
Answer the question What are the main similarities and differences on the
subtopic?.
Draw a conclusion.
If there is no possibility to compare (no articles from EU/Indian side), please
indicate why you could not compare your findings with those of the counterparts.
The group will be assessed on a total of 90 points
Reflection 5p Write a groups reflection .
What went well? What would you do differently? Methods, group work, technical
aspects etc.. At least 5 lines.
Total 100 p. If no comparison could be made, the group will be assessed on a total of 90 p.
