grievances and acts as a representative for the
batch. The council aims to lead the fraternity

committee looks after the overall
development of the batch in terms of

The pioneer media relations committee
of IIM Jammu aims at building long
term, synergetic relations with the
industry and the world media. The MRC
has taken up the responsibility of
branding and marketing IIM Jammu,
utilizing the social media to propagate
information about the events and
activities conducted on the campus and
to provide inputs about the college to
IIM aspirants.

Committee
The placecom acts as an interface between IIM
Jammu and industry by facilitating placements
for the students. Together with the Industry
Interaction Cell, the placecom works towards
organizing industrial visits, interactions and
guest lectures. Eminent personalities are invited
to interact with students giving valuable insights
into the corporate world. The placecom
comprises 9 young and dynamic students.
Social Responsibility
Committee
The social responsibility cell of IIM Jammu lays its
emphasis on the continuous amelioration of the
society. Our vision is to inculcate values of
sustainable livelihood among the students and make
them aware about their duties towards the society. As
learned and responsible individuals, the Social
Responsibility Cell aims at giving back to the society
by organizing events and awareness camps.
Academic
Committee
The Academic Committee is the student
community's voice in all the matters pertaining to
academics. It acts as a mediator between the
students and the faculty. The committee provides
valuable recommendations regarding daily
academic activities and healthy scheduling of the
curriculum to the PGP council. It keeps the
students aware of the upcoming academic
activities and rules and policies of the Institute. It
also oversees the library facilities and fosters a
healthy academic environment.
Skill Development
Committee
A journey from being a manager to a business leader
requires to sail a ship between the storms, and to
navigate it, requires certain skills that cannot be learnt
through books. This is when this committee comes into
picture. Developing interpersonal and professional
communication skills, effective use of technology in
management, peer to peer learning and organizing
workshops by professionals are few of the aspects that
this committee is working on.

The exact dates will be communicated when finalized. The

organizations can start inviting applications any time after the
conducting Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) and/or confirmation of 1.85% 3.77%

job offer such as profile, stipend and location must be provided
before applications are invited. Consequently, an invitation letter
will be mailed to the organization confirming the date and time
when the Selection Process will take place. The organization is

Pre-Placement Talks
A Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) provides an excellent opportunity for
candidates to gain deeper knowledge about the prospective

Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu Division and
the winter capital of state of Jammu and Kashmir,
situated on the banks of the Tawi River. Jammu,
features a humid subtropical climate with extreme
summer highs reaching 46C (115F), and
temperatures in the winter months occasionally
falling below freezing.

Tourism is the largest industry in Jammu. It is also a

focal point for the pilgrims going to Vaishno Devi
and Kashmir valley. Places of interest include old
historic palaces like Mubarak Mandi, Purani Mandi,
Rani Park, Amar Mahal, Bahu Fort, Raghunath
Temple, Ranbireshwar Temple, Karbala, Peer
Meetha, Old city and a number of shopping places,
fun parks, etc.
