I am a full-time Honors sophomore at Northern Michigan University studying Outdoor Recreation

and Leadership Management. I am looking for a part-time job with flexible hours for while Im at
school.

Education
Northern Michigan University (Freshman Year, 2nd Semester- Present)
Transferred to NMU and I am currently working on a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Leadership and
Management. I hope to graduate by May, 2020.

Aquinas College (Freshman Year, 1st Semester)

Was in the process of working on a degree in Sustainable Business but there were various
characteristics about the school that did not appeal to me personally.

Indiana University High School (Junior Year Senior Year)

Switched to taking online courses so that high school will be completed earlier compared to public
schools. With this change in pace comes a greater amount of availability during regular school days.
Rochester Hills High School (Sophomore-Junior Year)
Moved to Rochester, Michigan in October 2014 from Santa Monica, California. Took college-prep
course work. GPA: 4.0.

Santa Monica High School (Freshman-Sophomore Year)

Job Experience

Kalu Yala Student Internship (Summer 2017)

For 10 weeks I lived in the Panamanian jungle near a small town, which is a few miles outside of the
Chagres National Forest. Once a slashed and burned cattle farm, the area is now beaming with life
and biodiversity due to reforestation practices.
I was a part of the Outdoor Recreation and Ecotourism program, which consisted of hiking and
guiding groups through all kinds of terrains, and gaining first-hand experience practicing Leave No
Trace techniques. When the program wasnt outside hiking and maintaining trails, we would have
lectures and discussions about the importance of encouraging others to explore the outdoors in a
sustainable manner. In order to do this, we brushed up on basic survival and safety skills and put
them to use on our excursions.

Besides learning the basics, I was able to learn numerous valuable life lessons that have shaped my
worldview and have improved my temperament in various ways.

Portable Church Industries (School Break Summer 2016; School Break

Winter 2016; School Break Summer 2017)
As an assistant loader and helper at a warehouse, my main priorities included unboxing and
assembling miscellaneous products (ranging from toys, drum sets, lights, wires, etc.) When these
products were assembled I would then load them into portable containers, which would then be
loaded onto trailers. In addition to this, I used a roller to coat the inside of trailers with
polyurethane. I was also trained to use a forklift and helped out around the warehouse with various
other jobs including maintenance and organization.

When I returned home for Winter break, I worked again for Portable Church; however, this time I
worked in their other warehouse, where I spent most of my time cutting aluminum with a high-tech
saw. When this aluminum was cut to the appropriate size, I would then carefully drill holes in it.
Depending on who needed help more, I would switch between the two warehouses with the various
jobs that needed to be completed. During this time, the head of the company contacted me to work
on a recycling project to help the company be more sustainable. Throughout its existence as a
business, the company used only one trash dumpster for both recycling and trash (even though the
majority of the items going in the trash were recyclable). I did outside research and found an
organization in the area that delivers and picks up recycling dumpsters for free. After working out
the logistics of this, I was able to help save the company over $300 per month by reducing the
amount of times the trash would need to be picked up.

Miguels Cantina (January 2015 June 2015)

As a busser at a Mexican restaurant, my main priorities included bussing, cleaning, and
preparing tables. Along with this, set up a large tray with ingredients used to make salsa and
guacamole in front of the customers at their table. This job also required the busser to be
efficient and hard working in a fast-paced environment. When moments arose and no personal
work was required to be done relative to specified tables or with the waiter, many other duties
were expected to be followed through such as bringing the customers food to their tables,
cleaning the restrooms and other areas within the restaurant, as well as helping out fellow
bussers or waiters with small but significant tasks.

Vector Marketing (August 2014- January 2015)

As a Sales Representative, generated leads for presentations to demonstrate and sell Cutco knives. In
these appointments, product information was explained, features were discussed and demonstrated,
and advantages of the product were also included in the presentation. If any customer questions
about the product arose, answers were expected to be in detail. When the customer decided to
purchase the knives, processed customers orders and provided additional customer service.

Pacific Crossroads Church (October 2010 September 2013)

As part of a team of 15 Site Setup workers, served as the Team Leader for the children's area.
Each week, arrived early, planned the work for the team, participated in the moving of
equipment, setting up of classrooms, supporting the manager, and then tear ing down the
equipment.

Began working on this team at the age of 13 and was promoted to Team Leader at the age of
15 supervising others who were older than me. Worked weekly from 7am to 2pm in an
outdoor environment that required heavy lifting and setting up classrooms in an inviting
manner.
This role was based in Santa Monica, California. I left this job when my family decided to move to
Michigan.
