Hanging of the Green- 5:30 pm
Join us as we enjoy a light supper
together, decorate the sanctuary for Advent and Christ-
mas, make Christmas cards (for all ages), and sing Advent
and Christmas hymns in the sanctuary. Come and enjoy
one or all of these activities or just hang out with your
church family as we prepare for a festive season!
Sunday, December 1
1st Sunday of Advent- 11:00 am*
We will begin the celebration of Advent with
special guests the Derby City Brass Band during our
morning worship.
Thursday, December 12
Service of Remembrance 5:30 pm
Join us for a contemplative worship service remembering
those whose presence we miss at this time of year. We
gather to acknowledge our sadness and grief; we seek
Gods healing and wholeness; and we offer one another
the gift of friendship and care. Come as we gather to-
gether with scripture, singing prayer, and communion in
Gods love and light.
*Childcare will be provided for infants,
toddlers, & preschoolers
3rd Sunday of Advent 11:00 am*
John Rutters Gloria
The Sanctuary Choir will lead us in worship singing John
Rutters rousing piece. Gloria is a
magnificent setting of the text from Luke for choir accom-
panied by organ and brass ensemble.
Sunday December 22
4th Sunday of Advent-11:00 am*
A Wreath of Lullabies
The Service will feature the Central Orchestra
leading us in hymns and providing special music
Wednesday, December 24
Christmas Eve at Central
The Journey to Bethlehem- 4:00 pm
A service especially for children and their families. We
sing familiar carols, tell the Christmas story and meet all
the characters in Bethlehem.
Lessons and Carols- 7:00 pm
A service of lessons and carols and candle light. The tra-
ditional Christmas readings and an assortment of carols.
Thursday, December 25
Christmas Day Service 10:30 am
The Christmas story and lots of carols make up this infor-
mal service held in the forum room. Snacks will be
served
