Workplace Reflection

In the interview, various aspects of HR have been covered. I do agree that HR plays an important
in building a bridge between the employees and management. It gives platform to the employees
to present their concerns in a more systematic manner. And for this to happen, organization needs
to have promising high-end leadership. The major successes in HR field include turning the loss-
making business into profit making and then let it to ride organically. All this is done, keeping the
lower stress-level on the employees as high tensed environment can lead to deep losses and may
also result in high attrition rate (Youtube, 2017).

Dawn Turner explains the basic attributes and points that an organization must possess in order to
earn higher employee satisfaction and gain the recognition of the best place to work for the
employees. The employees of the organization must feel connected with it and there shall be good
transparency levels that must be maintained to ensure that the employees are aware of the steps
and policies that the organization adopts.

Work culture and organizational environment are two of the prime factors that play an extremely
significant role. It is necessary for the employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance and it
would only be possible if the employee related policies in terms of work timings, job profiles etc.
are flexible in nature. The organizations must adopt and adjust as per the needs and requirements
of the members of the staff (Qld, 2016).

The organization must be employee friendly in nature in terms of the employee benefits that are
provided. These benefits shall be in the form of continuous support, guiding principles along with
industry specific discounts and offers as well. There are several employees who look to travel to
different destinations for work purposes. These employees shall be provided with an opportunity

to travel as per the project needs and requirements. There are small gestures that an organization
may make to earn employee engagement. For example, letter of joining is provided to every new
employee; however, if it is provided along with a congratulations card then the employee will feel
a strong connection with the company (Miller, 2014).

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is one of the other major contributions that an organization
must make so that the social benefits are also achieved. There are various charitable organizations
and entities in need of support that must be catered by the organization by providing financial and
social assistance.

The organizations must also have a plan for the future. The employee engagement along with the
recognition in terms of top places to work can be maintained only through careful planning. The
organizations must analyse the gaps present and must continue to perform the activities that aid in
the strengthening of the employee engagement. Employee engagement survey is one of the
measures that may be taken in order to understand the employee needs and requirements from the
organization (Markos, 2010). These surveys shall be carried out on a frequent interval to
understand the employee woes and identify the gaps present.
