Instructions for paper Setter

Theory Paper carries 70 marks. Duration of the paper is 3 hours. Pass Marks 50%

Instruction for the paper Setter: The question paper consists of Two Sections A and B

From Section A There should be nine essay type questions covering Entire Syllabus uniformly
carry 12.5 each(12.5x4=50) each . From Section B The 10th question will be compulsory include
10 short questions, covering Entire Syllabus uniformly carry 02 marks each(02x10=20). The
candidates are required to attempt any four questions, including the 10th question will be
compulsory.

3. Library cooperation: Definition, Need and purpose.

4. Library and Information networks: INFLIBNET and DELNET.

5. Library Legislation: Need, Purpose and factors. Library legislation in India.

6. Professional and personal ICTcompetences for library staff.

7. Online catalogues and databases.

8. Online searching and search engines.

9.The Internet: Introduction, E-mail and Internet based service

Paper II

(A) Library Classification: Practice

Credits: 7 Lectures to be delivered: 105

(One lecture each of one hour duration)

Max Marks: 70 Time: 3 hours

Instructions for paper Setter

1. 10 Titles based on Fundamental categories. Common isolates, Devices and Phase relations,
according to Colon Classification out of which five titles are to be classified.

2. 10 Titles based on Add on device and Tables from DDC out of which five titles are to be
classified.

3. Each titles carries 7 marks.

Paper III Library Cataloguing: Practical

Credits: 7 Lectures to be delivered: 105

(One lecture each of one hour duration)
 Max Marks: 70 Time : 3 hours

Instructions for paper Setter

1. A total of 8 titles to AACR and CCC are to be given, out of which 05 titles are to be
catalogued.

2. Each title carries 14 marks.

The Syllabus will include single author, two author, three and more than three
authors.

Prescribed books: Anglo American Cataloging Rules II (Ed2,1978). Classified

Catalogue Code with additional rules for dictionary catalogue code. Ed.5.Reprinted
