Vanmark Automatic Line Switcher
The Vanmark Automatic Line Switcher, senses a

line plug-up and switches from one position to the
other in less than 1/10 tenth of a second bypassing
blockages. This process avoids costly down time
and line flow fluctuations.
The Switcher eliminates line down time to change

cutter heads, it has exact product alignment
to cutters even during switching,
reduces operator attendance time,
and negligible maintenance is
required. It may be set as desired
to switch cutter at required intervals
for changing dull blades without
system shutdown, thereby maintaining
sharp blades at all times to obtain
maximum cut quality.

Vanmark Centurion Hydrocutter
The Vanmark Centurion Hydrocutter combines
modern design with simplicity of operation to
produce a dependable, low maintenance in-line
cutting system. Our 4 and 5 models has a capacity
range of 10,000 to 25,000 lbs. (11,340 kg) of
product per hour.
The Centurion is equipped with

interchangeable cutter head housings,
a variety of knife set configurations can
be installed for a wide range of
product cuts. The quick change
ergonomic design allows the
operator to change the cutter
head housing in less than
30 seconds.
The one piece Hydro Tube is offered in a

variety of sizes to best match a wide range of product
diameters. When assembled with the cutter head it is
designed to provide excellent alignment. The elastic
properties of our patented tube technology results in
a smooth flow path to consistently orient the product
that reduces spinning or tumbling with less
product damage.
Features
When combined with Vanmarks Automated Line
Switcher using our latest control package downtime
can be virtually eliminated. Blades can be changed
while product continues to run on a second cutter
head. If the system senses a line plug-up it switches
to the alternate cutter in less than a tenth of a
second, bypassing the blockage and with our fixed
head alignment system we can retain exact product
alignment to the operating cutter.

Vanmark 0300 Transverse Scrubber/Washer
The Series 0300 Transverse Scrubber/Washer can

accomplish a number of tasks from removing loose
dirt, sand and debris from root crops to gently
washing fruits and vegetables.
As product enters and contacts

the first retention flap, it is
immediately spread out
across the bed into a single
layer. This allows more contact
between the product and the
rolls and thorough exposure to
water sprays in wet applications.
Additional retention flaps can
be placed at strategic points to
increase the time product spends
Series 0300 in each section of the bed. This
results a very efficient scrubbing action, even
though the product may only travel a relatively
short distance.

Vanmark 1000/1100 Crate Dumper
Superior efficiency and high speed unloading will

make the Vanmark Series 1000 Crate Dumper a
work horse in any production line.
The Crate Dumper unloads product crates (up to

54 wide (137.16 cm) by rotating them to an angle of
approximately 135 degrees with minimum headroom.
The constant speed 3 HP drive provides fast, smooth
dumping action and quick return. The
cycle time is just 50 seconds.
Two hydraulic cylinders are powered by a

self-contained power pack and actuated from the
floor or by a remote pull cord switch. This allows
easy operation by forklift drivers. To ensure
safety, Vanmarks Crate Dumper has been
specifically designed to allow the forklift
operator to easily see beneath the crate being
placed or removed.

Vanmark 1040 Floor Load Crate Dumper
Vanmarks Model 1040 is built to last. The quality

and rock solid dependability of this machine will
continue to add value to your investment for years to
come. It handles crates, totes, and bins weighing up
to 2,500 lbs. (1,135 kg) and can be easily adjusted to
a variety of container sizes and types. Operation is
smooth and simple.
Operators can load this crate dumper from either

pallet jack or forklift, allowing reduced forklift traffic.

Vanmark 1500 Metering Hopper
The Vanmark Series 1500 Metering Hopper
is designed to be a key component in your
production line. It functions as a receiving
surge point and controls production line flow
rate by delivering a constant metered flow with
no product run through.
The Series 1500 Hopper is designed to receive

product from a crate dumper or can be fed by
conveyor. Product is discharged via a 15 inch
(38 cm) diameter auger or 12 inch (30.5 cm)
wide belt. A special load support baffle inside
the hopper promotes smooth product transfer
and minimizes product damage. Additionally,
design features minimize debris buildup for
faster and easier cleaning.
The auger or belt is powered by a variable speed

Vanmark 1600 Bulk Storage Bin
Vanmark bulk storage bins are uniquely

engineered to minimize damage to product
from impact. As product is conveyed to the bin, it
is diverted onto the special lowerator and
gently makes its way to the bottom.
When the lowerator is filled, the tilted
bin fill conveyor, running the length
of the bin, automatically carries more
product to the edge of the pile. Filling
continues quietly until the bin is full.
During unloading, a load support baffle bears

discharge auger or belt is in operation.
Folded sheet metal sides are light weight, strong,

Vanmark 2000/2100 Hydrolift/Destoner
The Vanmark Hydrolift/Destoner can be suited
to many product applications. It serves two key
functions. First, it rinses product and separates non-
floatable debris from the process stream. Second, it
elevates product using a minimum of floor space.

As product is released into the receiving tank, a
constant speed vertical auger creates turbulence in
the water. This motion helps separate rocks from the
product, washes any loose dirt from it and moves the

Vanmark 4500 Even Feeder Convey or Wet Application
The Vanmark Series 4500 Even Feeder
provides consistent, uniform metering of wet
product into downstream processes. It is
specifically designed for wet applications such
as feeding peeled product to slicers.
The low profile and spacing of belt fights are

engineered to create a single layer of product
across the full width of the conveyor. This results
in a steady flow of product from the hopper,
without the usual dribble to deluge common with
other feed conveyors.
The series is available with several sizes of tanks

including those shown in the inset opposite.
Rectangular tanks feature Vanmarks exclusive 5-
sided corners and round outlet to eliminate
product bridging. Hoppers empty completely.
A variety of chutes can be fitted to the Series
4500, including a remotely controlled product
diverter to direct product to two separate lines.

The unmatched versatility of Vanmarks Rotary
Washer/Processor provides a simple solution to

paneled drum design and optional features give

The Natural Flow Gate Features
The unique shape of the Natural Flow gate keeps

product moving and eliminates dead spots. The
gate lets peeled product leave the peeling chamber
in a natural motion instead of forcing it to escape
over the top of the gate. This prevents over peeling
at the discharge and lowers peeling losses.
The Natural Flow gate retrofits easily to Series

2700 and 2800 peeler/washers and some
predecessors. In most instances it will be a simple
bolt-on replacement.
The Natural Flow gate can pay for itself quickly

through improved yield.
Depending upon application the gate replaces an

auger discharge, elimination of the maintenance
costs can result in additional advantages and
savings. These and the higher efficiency will
keep adding to your bottom line year after year.
Natural Flow gate is shown above on Series 2900 with double-swing discharge.
This optional arrangement is available, but is not required to install the gate.
How Much More Yield Can Be Expected Using the New Gate?
Results will vary, depending on a number of factors relative to your specific operation. However, it is possible
to make some what if estimates of the effects of even small improvement in yield. For illustration purposes,
we will use round numbers to make it easier to extrapolate the results.
For example, if an operation processes, 10,000 lbs of potatoes per hour, a half percentage point improvement
would mean an extra 400 lbs of product from the peeler every 8 hour shift. This translates to 100,000 lbs
over the course of a year [400 lbs/shift x 5 shifts/wk x 50 wks/year].
Stated another way, at the end of the year the operation would be making an additional 100,000 lbs more
peeled product available for conversion of finished product and sales revenue from the same amount of raw
purchased product.
