Safe Torque Off (STO)

System Description of functions


overview This function prevents the drive from restarting unexpectedly in accordance with EN
60204-1, Section 5.4. Safe Torque Off disables the drive pulses and disconnects the

Saftey Integrated

System Description of functions


overview The Safe Stop 1 function can safely stop the drive in accordance with EN60204-1, Stop Category 1.
When the SS1 function is selected, the drive brakes along a quick stop ramp (OFF3) and

When the stop function of the drive is activated and it does not come to a halt quickly enough due to
the load inertia, it can be actively braked by the converter. This integrated quick braking function

SINAMICS G150: Option K82
System In order to integrate STO+SS1 safety functions into a plant/machine environment, a wide range of
overview limitations & constraints must be carefully observed. Option K82 allows simple integration into the plant or
machine.
