Penitential Act

The Priest invites the faithful to make the Penitential Act:

&W W
Brethren (brothers and sisters), let us acknowledge our sins,

& W
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sa - cred mys - ter - ies.

A brief pause for silence follows.

The Priest, or a Deacon, or another minister, then sings the following or other invocations
with Kyrie, eleison (Lord, have mercy):
Em Am Em Am Em Am Em

& W
The people reply:

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart: Lord, have mer - cy. Lord, have mer - cy.
