Windrock MD
o
Compatibility notes
Windrock MD now
requires Windows
7 or above.
Windrock MD no
longer creates
individual D6 setup
files and now
ignores individual
D6 setup files for
all current machine
setups. Therefore,
using Windows
Explorer to copy
D6 setup files from
one machine to
another is no
longer supported.
o
6400 support
Windrock TopView
support
Combustion
statisticswhen
taking multi-cycle
power pressure
data, the 6320 and
6400 will collect
statistics on the
percentage of
good combustion,
poor combustion,
pre-combustion,
and over-pressure
cycles. These
values are
available in the
Calculator tool on
the analyzer and in
Windrock MD and
in trend plots in
Windrock MD.
Sensor points'
ranges (for 4-20mA
sensors) and
sensitivity (for
accelerometers,
velocity sensors,
and prox sensors)
are now saved with
the data, so that
changing those
values in the
Sensor Point
Editor won't affect
historical data. You
can view and edit
historical data's
sensor range or
sensitivity in the
Data Explorer. This
is useful if you
realize after you
took the data that
your sensors were
set up incorrectly
or if you want to
add sensor range
or sensitivity data
to older (pre-4.4)
data.
A new collection
point type,
"Calibrate
sensors," is now
supported. When
you first open a
machine, you'll
receive a notice at
the bottom of the
screen asking if
you want to update
your collection
point setup for the
new unified route
features.
Plotting
Calculator boxes
and the
RPM/Timestamp
box have been
updated to match
the rest of MD's
look and feel and
to work better on
higher resolution
displays. Copying
and pasting data
from Calculator
tool boxes to Excel
works better.
Setups
Trend points
The Trend
Point Editor
now supports
copy and
paste. This
can be useful
for copying
trend point
warnings and
alarms from
one setup to
another.
Calculated
trend points
can now
have units of
measuremen
t assigned. If
user units
(such as
metric) are
enabled, then
calculated
trend points
must have
units of
measuremen
t assigned to
work
correctly.
Inputs to
calculated
trend points
are now
always in
English units.
In particular,
temperatures
are in
Rankine.
Most
calculations
should not be
affected, as
long as the
calculated
trend point's
units of
measuremen
t are set
correctly.
Trend points
now refer to
warning
and danger
limits instead
of warning
and alarm
limits, for
consistency
with the rest
of Windrock's
products.
The Trend
Point Editor
window now
shows units
next to
warning and
danger
values.
Changing user
units (e.g.,
changing
between
English and
metric) will
now update
trend point
warning and
danger limits
for the new
units.
Group plots
Group Plot
Auto
Generate will
show the
power stats
box for power
parade TDC
plots.
Group Plot
Auto
Generate
now creates
spark trace
group plots.
Auto
generated
power
cylinder plots
no longer
include
crank-angle
spark data
(since the
6400 won't
take crank-
angle spark
data).
Collection points
The Collection
Point Auto
Generate
wizard now
includes a
Manual/Tem
perature
item. By
default, all
manual/temp
erature
points,
besides valve
cap
temperatures
, will be
added to the
route as the
first point in
the route.
To simplify
usage, the
Collection
Point Editor
now always
shows
unused
points,
instead of
having a
Show
unused
points
checkbox.
The number of
cycles for
spark survey
and the
number of
cycles for
balancer are
now
configurable
within
Windrock MD
(under the
Balancer and
Spark Survey
window) and
can now be
configured
separately
from each
other.
Collection
Point Auto
Generate
now sets
each of these
to whatever
number of
cycles is
chosen for
ignition and
for power
pressure,
respectively.
Reduced the
maximum
spark sample
length from
10,400 sec
to 8,400
sec, to
accommodat
e the 6400's
higher
sample rate.
The Fixed
Data Scale
Editor now
indicates
whether
scales are
enveloped or
not, instead
of showing a
low value
that the
software will
ignore for
enveloped
data.
Machine
setups are no
longer limited
to 160 fixed
data scales.
The Software
Options screen
now warns if you
try to set raw
vibration sample
density to 4 per
degree on a unit
with a rated speed
of 1050 RPM or
above, since 4 per
degree may not
work reliably that
that speed.
Viewing setups
(Setup ...
View) looks much
nicer
Windrock MD
Viewer can now
view machine
setups.
Ease of use
improvements for
multi select
windows (used to
select
manual/temperatur
e points within the
Collection Point
Editor, trend points
within the Trend
Select window,
points to plot within
the View Ring
Buffer window,
points to plot within
the Group Plot

WebView panel
pages setup)
o
Trending
Trends of
compressor valve
losses now honor
the "Use nozzle
traces" software
option.
Trending of
engine/compressor
RPM is now
allowed, even if not
all
engine/compressor
data was taken for
a given run.
Reporting
The balancer
report's bar charts
now have tick
marks indicating
the high and low
pressure check
limits.
Fixed the
compressor report
to use the same
calculations as the
economic report
when the
theoretical flow
comparison
calculation method
is selected.
o
Station/machine
management
Data Explorer
Added a Sensor
column for
showing the type
of sensor used,
where relevant
(e.g., for 4-20 mA
ultrasonic sensors
versus ULT-200
versus the 6400's
new ULT-3000
smart sensor)
Platinum support
On-Guard support
Updating On-Guard
module values (for
example, to assign
channels to a P-
Guard) now
correctly updates
the trend point list.
Other enhancements
Improved mouse
wheel support
Calculations
When looking at
FFTs, phase
calculations
(including the
cursor's Phase
display and the
Cross Channel
Phasing tool) failed
to apply the
Hanning window if
appropriate.
o
Setups
Other enhancements
To improve data
acquisition on potentially
problematic engines, the
6320 will allow a greater
cycle-by-cycle variation
in RPM before reporting
errors.
