Warp Films
It is an independent film/television company
It was founded by Rob Mitchell and Steve Beckett and is
currently based in Sheffield and London- with an affiliated
company in Melbourne.
The company is based off of creating short films, but has
produced some breakthrough movies.
Its sister company Warp X focuses on feature films.
A lot of the films created by Warp Films have been highly
successful in film festival.
Some of the most successful films created by Warp Films
include: This Is England, Exhibit A, Submarine and many
more.
The company has occasionally acted as a distributor for the
films Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills,
Cinema16 and Trash Humpers.
Working Title Films
The company is based in London that was founded in 1983
by Tim Bevan and Sarah Radclyffe.
The company produces feature films but has occasionally
made television productions.
Some of the most successful films are as follows:
o Four Weddings and a Funeral
o The Big Lebowski
o Notting Hill
o Billy Elliot
o Bridget Joness Diary
o 40 Days and 40 Nights
o Love Actually
o Shaun of the Dead
o Pride & Prejudice
o Nanny McPhee
o Hot Fuzz
o Les Misrables
o The Theory of Everything
o The Danish Girl
Overall
While all three companies are highly successful in their craft, the most
suitable company appears to be Working Title films. This is because of
their location being based in London, and the majority of the film they
have produced are drama films. As well as this, the other companies
often focus on other type of media more so than Working Title Films,
whether this is radio, books, television programmes or short films.
Film Distributors
Universal Pictures
Focus Features
Twentieth Century Fox
Film Corporation
Universal Pictures
The company was founded in 1912 by Charles Baumann, Jules
Brulatour, Robert H. Cochrane, Mark Dintenfass, David Horsley,
Adam Kessel, Carl Laemmle, Pat Powers and William Swanson.
The company is based in California and is the oldest surviving film
studio in the US, as well as the worlds fourth oldest.
The company produces a lot of animated and family films.
The three possible distributors are, again, highly successful- but Focus
Features would be the best choice for my film. Their work with
independent films and the drama genre is far superior to what the
other two companies have to offer.
