torandwarninglightsisreferredtoastheinstrumentcluster.

Theinstrumentclusterreceivesinformationonthewiringharnessintheformofanalogueanddigital
electricalsignals.Thesesignalsareprocessedandthendisplayedintheinstrumentcluster,orpassed
onasinformationtoothercontrolunits.

Dependingontheequipment,twodifferentinstrumentclusterversionsareusedintheF30.

Asacontrolunit,thebasicversionoftheinstrumentclusterisabususeronthePT-CAN.

Asacontrolunit,thehighversionoftheinstrumentclusterisabususerontheMOSTbusandonthe

oftheautomaticenginestart-stopfunction(MSA)(READY/OFF)isintegratedintherevcounter.The

ornavigationsystemwithactivatedarrowdisplay,isreflectedonthewindscreenandisthereforeper-
manentlyavailableinthedriver'sfieldofview.

TheHeadUpDisplay(optionalequipment610)intheF30containsvariousfunctionsaimedaten-

Iftheservicehasbeencarriedoutforoneormorescopesofmaintenancework,replacementoffront
brakepadsforexample,thefullserviceintervalmustberesetforthesescopes.

Whenresettingthescopesofmaintenancework,adifferentiationismadebetweentwotypes:

Statutoryscopesofmaintenancework,suchasthevehicleinspection,areaspecific,which
canonlyberesetinthe"Service"menu.
Allservice-relatedscopesofmaintenancework,suchaschangingthesparkplugsforexam-
ple,areresetviatheresetmodeintheinstrumentclusterorviatheBMWworkshopsystem.
