Symmetry Plane
Specify a boundary where symmetry exists. You should specify a
planar face on which to locate a Symmetry Plane boundary condition.
No values are required for a Symmetry Plane. The form applies to both
Fluid Boundaries and Solid Boundaries.

Periodic Pair
Specify a Periodic Pair boundary condition for a translational or
rotational transformation. This form is relevant for both Fluid and Solid
Boundaries. However, you may not create a Periodic Pair boundary
condition which connects a Solid Boundary to a Fluid Boundary; the
surfaces selected must either both be Fluid Boundaries or both Solid
Boundaries, as appropriate to the form.

You can set values on the form in any dimensionally consistent units
(see Units (p. 117 in Introduction to CFX-Build)).
Inlet
The form below is for a single phase simulation with a stationary frame
of reference and a subsonic inlet. The options which appear on this
form depend upon which models are being used (see following pages).
Specify the Flow Regime for the Inlet boundary as either Specify Mass and Momentum as:
Subsonic or Supersonic (see Inlet: Supersonic (p. 1149)). Normal Speed
Cartesian Velocity Components
Total Pressure
Static Pressure
Mass Flow Rate
See Mass and Momentum (p. 231
in CFX-5 Solver and Solver
Manager) for more details. Options
are different for Rotating Frames,
Multiphase and Supersonic Inlets
(see following pages).

for both Rotating and Stationary Domains.

Outlet
The form below is used to set the boundary conditions at an Outlet for
a single phase stationary domain simulation.
Specify the Flow Regime for the
Outlet boundary as either:
Subsonic
Supersonic.
Specify the Mass and Momentum
as:
Normal Speed
Cartesian Velocity Components
Static Pressure
Average Static Pressure.

For a multiphase simulation the Outlet boundary values are set on the
form below. The form shown is for multiphase flow using the Interfluid
Transfer model. If the Homogeneous model is used, the Mass and
Momentum option replaces the Flow Specification option and the Fluid
Values... form is not available..
This form is only applicable for multiphase flow using the Interfluid
Transfer model. If Velocity is specified, the Fluid Boundary
Conditions Values sub-form becomes available, and the user may
select Normal Speed or Cartesian Velocity Components for each
phase.
Opening
This form applies to all single phase Openings.
Opening boundaries must be subsonic.
More Help:
Opening (p. 239 in CFX-5 Solver and Solver Manager)
Opening (p. 316 in CFX-5 Solver and Solver Manager)
This form is used to set the values at an Opening boundary which are
specific to each fluid in the Domain in a multiphase simulation. Some
options will appear on the previous form for Homogeneous multiphase
flow if they are not fluid-specific values.
Wall
The Fluid Boundary Condition Values form allows the user to specify
the Wall Influence on Flow for each fluid. The options are the same
as for single phase. Note that No Slip (Stationary)/No Slip (Moving)
combinations between fluids are not allowed. When specifying No Slip
(Moving) for all fluids, the U, V, W velocity components specified must
be identical for each fluid.
Select the Fluid for which you want
to specify the Wall boundary
values.
Wall Adhesion
This form is used to set the wall contact angle for a free surface flow in
which the surface tension force is modelled. This allows wall adhesion
effect to be accounted for. See Surface Tension (p. 438 in CFX-5
Solver and Solver Manager) for details.
Component Models
The Component Models form is available if a selected fluid consists
of more than a single component. This form allows you to edit the Mass
Fraction of each component in a multicomponent fluid at an Inlet,
Outlet or Opening boundary. Note that you may not set the Mass
Fraction of the component which is set to use the Constraint
equation; the Mass Fraction of this component on the Boundary will be
calculated to ensure that the total Mass Fractions add up to 1. It should
also be noted that Mass Fractions cannot be set at Walls.
This form allows you to specify the flux of each additional variable at a
Wall boundary.
