In spite of being Venezuela the country


with the major reserves of oil worldwide
more than 50% of our people live in slums
without infrastructure and in precarious
structures called barrios and ranchos.

For the execution of this project we


moved to -Punta de Mata , Monagas
State (in this days growing 10 %
interanual) - one of the many perverse
examples of a non-developed oil
contrast cities of Venezuela. A clear
result of the contrast between the rural
village where the poor local workers live
in ranchos in the slums and the oil city
where the oil expants and executives
of the oil business live in houses, and
American dream urbanizations.

Observing these extreme lifestyles we


found our inspiration. We first visited the
oil camps urbanizations where we
immediately noticed in the houses the
re-use of drilling tubes for the structure
of the houses and in our second visit we
went to the industrial oil waste deposits.
