Service-learning Reflection Form

(NOTE: This form should be completed mid-way through service-learning experience and submitted to your instructor
after the service learning activity. This will be used for evaluation purposes.)

Describe the service activities that you are doing.

Yesterday I went to South City Central School to conduct a therapeutic art activity for the IDLs. O together with my team
let the kids express their thoughts and feelings through drawing it. It was our way of knowing what are their emotions
without the burden of rekindling the bitter and painful memories through sharing it orally.

How have you benefitted from your service experience personally and academically?

For me, it is a good stress -coping mechanism to find an outlet where you can comfortably express all your
emotions rather than voicing it out or resort to something you might regret in the end. Academically, well it
can also be applicable when I am on the verge of giving up especially now that I am always pre-occupied with

commitment as an atenean to be a woman for others as what I have learned from my
formation courses and now, I was able to practice it.

What connections do you see between the content of the course in which you are enrolled (or previous courses you have taken) and
the service activities you are doing?
What have you learned about yourself from your service-learning experience?

I learned about another simple yet effective way how to deal with things that are hard to utter. I also learned
that I should sometimes, think like how a child perceives things and how they are able to absorb negative
vibes. This SLP really taught me a lot and the service I could offer them is just a bonus. It is actually me who is
learning a lot every encounter with them.

What was the most challenging thing that you have experienced so far? What did you learn from this experience?

Gladly it went okay and there were no problems encountered as we conducted the activity. Maybe because
me and my team are already close to each other and we always have something in common which is to

see similar faces because it is like
starting over again when we deal with new kids every meeting.

What changes would you recommend in how your service site operates and how the service-learning experience is structured?

Rate yourself 1 (low) to 10 (high) for your performance.

Why did you rate yourself the way you did?

I would give myself 8. Because I am always challenging myself to be better than I am the least time and that what I have
done can still be improved. But I am not lax, I give always the best that I can do for the kids. I am also inspired to do
better because of them.
