ESSAY

Do you agree with the following statement:" There is nothing better of a companion

for a child that a pet"? Give specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

Animals are the best friends for the human. Now parents give pets to their children

from an early age, based on the idea that there is nothing better of a companion for a child

that a pet. We consider, this idea is true, the pets are very good for children to develop

confidence in the home around them. There are several reasons that support the idea there is

nothing better of a companion for a child that a pet, all based on seeking a good

development of children.

The pets allow that the children develop responsibility for caring for animals. Salud

(2017) mentions that "Children living with a pet from an early age allow them to develop a

sense of responsibility." We agree with this, several pediatricians claim think that no child

should be denied the opportunity to have a pet in their childhood, because it is important.

The relations that is generated between the child and the pet, entails the child to be

responsible with his pet. For example, in my family, my nephews have a dog, they have the

responsibility to feed him every day, because they know that if the dog does not eat, he will

die. Also, many children have responsibility of bathing dogs. Concluding, all these things

that the dog needs other children to do for them, allowing the children develop

responsibility.

The animals create a strong link with the children. This link is created when the

kids show their pets a sense of love and respect. When I was 6 years old, I used to spend

my life with my iguana and I tried to be with him every moment. The pet becomes in a

guardian that protect the child every time. My pet was very happy to see me and never took

off from me. The animal and the kid form an inseparable team and decide to share a big

part of their lives together. That thing happened with my sister and her dog, who shared a

lot of time together and they were inseparable. The conclusion is that for every child, their

pets are very important in their lives and it's the same for the pets, their link is unique.

Finally, the companion of a pet allows the child to develop more confidence in

himself. The Salud page states, there are some studies that show that a child with a pet

improves self-confidence and self-esteem, this is because the pet projects the child a sense

of security, several child psychologists recommend a pet, when the children are insecure or

nervous. Also, doctors say that the pet help children grow up healthy and self-assured",

because the animal not only gives them security, but also unconditional love. Many people

who have children with mental development problems choose to have a pet home. They

claim that "pets help the child with their therapies a provide confidence and security."

It is concluded that their is nothing better of a companion for a child than a pet

because pets allow that children to develop responsibility for caring for animals. Also, the

animals create a strong link with the children. And allows the child to develop more

confidence in himself. In the future, more people will know about benefits of a pet

companion for a child and will have a pet. How about getting a pet?
