INTRODUCTORY RITES

INTRODUCTION

Commentator : Good morning to each and every one. Today marks

a milestone in the journey of BSN Batch 2019, our first step in becoming
nurses by profession. A profession of competence, compassion and
commitment. And it is an honor, that we are all gathered here today to
celebrate this milestone in our lives with our loving parents, family,
relatives, friends and our mentors in the School of Nursing.

Lord, we praise You, our ever loving Father. You have brought us
through this amazing journey. As we begin to care for our patients, help us
to see in each patient Your image; To treat each person under our care as
if they were You; To treat them with Dignity,Respect, and Love as it fits the
situation. For you taught that if we are to become as You, we should serve
instead of being served; it is through giving that we receive and through
comforting that we live Life to the fullest.

Through Gods grace, may we be able to use our skills in fulfilling our
mission as future nurses to serve with competence, compassion and
commitment, in the guidance of the greatest teacher of all time, our Lord,
Jesus Christ.

Please all rise as we welcome our Mass Presider, Rev. Fr. Macwayne
N. Maniwang.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING :
God of might ,giver of every good gift, put into our hearts the love of your
name, so that, by deepening our sense of reverence, you may nurture in us
what is good and, by your watchful care, keep safe what you have
nurtured. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns
with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

The First Reading : First Letter to the Corinthians 3:18-23

Brothers and sisters: Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you
considers himself wise in this age, let him become a fool, so as to become
wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God, for it is
written: God catches the wise in their own ruses, and again: The Lord
knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
So let no one boast about human beings, for everything belongs to you,
Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or the present or
the future: all belong to you, and you to Christ, and Christ to God.
The word of the Lord.

ALL : Thanks be to God

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Let our Response be: To the Lord belongs the earth and all that fills it.

1. The Lords are the earth and its fullness; the world and those who dwell
in it. For he founded it upon the rivers.
Response: To the Lord belongs the earth and all that fills it.

2. Who can ascend the mountain of the Lord? Or who may stand in his holy
place? He whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean, who desires not
what is vain.
Response: To the Lord belongs the earth and all that fills it.

3. He shall receive a blessing from the Lord, a reward from God his savior.
Such is the race that seeks for him, that seeks the face of the God of
Jacob.
Response: To the Lord belongs the earth and all that fills it.

Commentator : please all stand for the Gospel Acclamation.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

GOSPEL( Luke 5:1-11)
Presider : The Lord be with you.
ALL : And with your spirit.
Presider : A reading from the Holy Gospel accdg. To Luke
ALL : Glory to you, O Lord.

While the crowd was pressing on Jesus and listening to the word of
God, he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats there
alongside the lake; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their
nets. Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, he asked
him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and
taught the crowds of the boat. After he had finished speaking, he said to
Simon, Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch. Simon
said in reply, Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught
nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets. When they had done
this, they caught a great number of fish and their nets were tearing. They
signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. They came
and filled both boats so that the boats were in danger of sinking. When
Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, Depart from
me, Lord, for I am a sinful man. For astonishment to at the catch of fish
they had made seized him and all those with him, and likewise James and
John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners of Simon. Jesus said to
Simon, Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men. When
they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him.

Presider : The Gospel of the Lord.

ALL : Praise to you, Lord, Jesus Christ.
Commentator : Please be seated for the Homily.

HOMILY

Commentator : Please stand.

PROFESSION OF FAITH
I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is seen and unseen. I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only
Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from
Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Being with the
Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of
the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under
Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day he rose
again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is
seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge
the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the
Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has
spoken through the Prophets. I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic
Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look
for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
